Tax filing status

I am one for planning ahead and knowing what's up before I get there so I have a question for y'all who are married and SO doesn't live in the US. What status do you file for your taxes - Married, Married filing seperately, Head of Household???? The biggest reason I am asking is that since I got married this year I could be eligible for additional tax stimulus (helps out with EIC and Child Tax credit too!) but can't find on the turbo tax website if I can file married or not since he isn't here. I don't see how married filing seperately would work because he won't be filing.

If he's living overseas you cant get the stimulus or earned income credit for that matter. He also cant be claimed as a dependant but he can be claimed as an exemption, which generally makes filing jointly as married worthwhile. You do that by filing form W-7 with the return so that he is given a ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number).
