Off the top of my head I'd say if they are more than 3 months out of the average, they should be filtered. I'm sure it would catch a few legitimate filers, but then these filers pretty much know to either expect an approval any day, or that something is seriously wrong and they need to be working with USCIS. Since the list's primary use is more of the "zomg we just made it into the top 10" or whatever, I don't think too many off-the-chart filers would have a problem with it.

The new list I think gives a more accurate look at those who have filed, but it does not account for those out of normal processing time. My number shot up by almost 100 with the new list because those from February 08 are listed. It took almost 1.5 weeks for my package to arrive @ USCIS due to the Christmas holidays, (12-31-08) so I won't get a NOA1 until January 09, so listing by Sent and NOA1 is good information for calculating number of days and so on.

I will not mention any names here but there are some VJ'ers who are listed out of normal processing time, and they have personal websites linked to their VJ account. On the personal site it has a complete timeline filled out as well as stating that they are married and/or applying for AOS. I think after trying to contact them to update their timeline, if they do not respond they should be deleted.

Previously Igor "baselined" the #1 person to the USCIS "official" dates that they are processing on. This is obviously as arbitrary as any other date (since the USCIS does not update it often) so I picked the last 12 months as the time frame. When we hit Feb one then the list will jump from March 2008 --> Feb 2009 (instead of Feb 2008 --> Jan 2009). Thoughts?

Once those February filers get approved or if they are no longer using VJ possibly get deleted then yes the list would jump from Feb to March. I like that you can see month by month who has gotten approved and who is still unapproved. I guess what I am trying to say is that is there a way to pinpoint like the old list who is out of normal processing time? But in a way that the list would update itself?

hey great job on the list..thank you for updating it!

i don't know how to recommend improving the list, but my wait number shot up almost 100 places as well. and when you look at the top 15 files approved you see they're all july, august and september filers...so all these applications from january, february and march can't possibly be active! thanks again!

Yeah, I think either way of baselining the dates, either Igor's method or the one you suggest, is fine. As you say, it's semi-arbitrary. I guess I like your floating method better, since it doesn't rely on outdated USCIS info.

Hey, thanks for doing this.

Nice to be able to choose if you want to view between sent date and NOA1 date.

Although we moved from like the 260's to 300+ but I do realize it includes people outside of waiting times also.

I am hoping once we can figure out who is not using the site anymore we can remove their timelines and have a better idea of what's going on.

Anyway, keep it up. I updated our NOA1 date to the day it was issued and not the day we received it.

I like the way igor's list filtered based on the official timeline, it did continue to show people up to 3 months outside of processing times below the list as well but those people were kept somewhat seperate (they didn't affect the 'place' of the rest of the list as probably most who get that far out are just inactive/haven't updated). I like that the listing shows up with each month grouped, that's pretty nice.

I'm a big fan of the stats page on igor's list, I hope to see that show up as well, possibly with more information.

Igor's list shows the last updated field which is nice... when I see there are new approvals (usually I see that from the stats page) I go to look to see who is new and that's usually done by looking for current last updated dates since the order of approvals isn't going to match the actual order that people find out about them.

If you want a better mechanism for filtering out the lists... I'd suggest that you filter much like igors, include up to 1 month outside of the normal processing times but shown at the top of the list like is currently done on VJ's list. The main difference though is anyone who has updated their timeline OR has been seen in the forums (last seen date shown in profiles) in the last month should show up no matter how far outside the processing date they are.

When you utilise the 'Sort by:' function, it lists First NOA, Date Sent and then First NOA. Should that be Second NOA instead? It appears it should be as when I select it, it sorts by NOA2. In addition Unapproved Petitions is listed twice in 'Show:'.

You also seem to have repeat options in the search filters, for example in Visa type you have K1 twice, I129-F twice, Vermont Service Center twice etc etc.

I have updated the list with graphs for the I-129F's and I-130's at both Service Centers. The graph shows what percent of people on any given month have been approved which indicates visually where the USCIS is processing.
