I just checked on my case and there is a message from the INS on my case that as follows;

Current Status: This case has been sent to another office for processing because it has jurisdiction over the case.

On December 22, 2008, we transferred this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN to our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location for processing because they now have jurisdiction over the case. We sent you a notice of this transfer. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. This case has been sent to our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

I am so confused on what this means? If anyone can help explaining what this means or if it ever happened to someone please let me know. I also want to know when something like this happens does the 180 days of processing fall from the time we recieved the reciept from the vermont center or the case goes back to day one again from the day california center gets it back. Please I really need help with this if anyone knows let me know.

Thank You!

Yes, it's just a routine transfer notice.

Most importantly if your case is indeed a K3 one (you filed I-129F in addition to I-130), it would be the first K3 case to be transferred from VSC to CSC. Can you please confirm you filed I-129F as well (and whether it got transferred too) and of course your timeline ?

Thanks,

Deepak

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive,and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

It's good!

California is much, much, faster than Vermont. Your application will be processed much faster than those of us stuck in Vermont.

Good luck!

Hello,

Thank you for your response. Yes we filed both and I just spoke to an officer in USCIS about why did this happen and they told me because we had an approved case that we submitted (I-29F) back in Aug, 2005 which we found to be the wrong form since we have a merraige contract in Jordan and our case belongs to California and had to be sent back to California. I don't believe that this would be the case of all other filers simply because they concider our case special situation as we have been approved before. I did not post my timeline yet because it is such a mess and it might confuse other people. The officer him self told that California is faster in processing and in there system our case was recieved by their office on 9/29/2008. We should be approved inshallah within the 180 from this date.

I hope I was help to you.

Thank You!
