packet 3 question

It appears that they have sent the wrong attachment. All the stuff behind the cover letter says packet 4 and refers to me already having an interview appointment, however the cover letter says to complete and return some forms in order to schedule the appointment.

Is my assessment correct (they messed up)? Although I remember reading somewhere that some consulates do the packet 3 & 4 together. I am trying to figure out what I am missing (if anything) and what I need to send to them to get my interview scheduled. I know, read the guides. :P

This came at about the least convenient time, as I want to get on it immediately so I don't delay things, however I am going to have roughly 5 minutes to myself from now until after the new year :P

Hi K34,

It might be helpful to you to have a look at the Canada VJWiki page:

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...ter.2FChecklist

There you can view a scanned copy of the K1 interview letter and checklist.

Thanks! Yes, I am definitely missing something. I have interview instructions and a list of things that I will need to bring to the interview, but nothing at all to send to them (nor any instructions as to what I need to send). I am going to attempt a phone call, or an email or something. It seems like it would be a good idea to get them to send this stuff to me rather than trying to sort it all out myself and hope that I don't miss anything.

Did you view trailmix's link? I know that she recently added a scanned copy of the checklist from package 3. That's all you'll need is to view that, and get started on what you need. They can send you a blank checklist if you email them, including the case number on the subject line. Don't forget to download the needed forms as well to send back.

Looking at the checklist at that link, it looks like I need something called form OF-167, Public Charge Evidence. That is something that is said to be enclosed with that package. I can't find anywhere that this is available for download. Anyone have any ideas on this one?

Thank you very much! According to that thread, it is not needed for a montreal interview anyway, I guess. I should probably just have it anyway though to be on the safe side.

As if this process wasn't confusing enough already, to try to put this together without having the attachment that I am supposed to have has me feeling a little lost. So it looks like all that I am missing that I need to have is the checklist. I don't imagine this is available anywhere, and my email to the consulate has not been answered yet, so I am going to see if I can print the scanned copy that is on here and use that, with a note explaining that I have to send them a copy that looks like ###, since they didn't send me one.

Thanks again for your help! I feel like I should have searched the forums before posting, so I could have found these answers myself. This came up at about the worst time though, since I have been out of town for the last week, and have only had several minutes on the internet.
