Several people with VWP came without any problems, many times. My husband came without problems before we got married. Once we got married, they denied him entry. Of course, he told them he was visiting his wife, which was not the right thing to do. So if you're coming with a baby...I don't know about that. Do you have other family or friends you can say you're visiting? If you do, then I would tell them that.

thanks for the info!

i just do not get it! what is this VWP for if they treat us like potential illegal immigrants? i always thought VWP is based on the fact that citizens of the participating high-income countries have enough financial and social security in their homeland so they should not wish to emigrate. i have been 2x in the US and every entry was so full of tensions and suspicion, that i felt like i came off the board of an african plane or something. i do not know, if it was not for my husband, i sometimes think i would never wish to come to the US. he visits us here in the EU every now and then and is always treated nicely at the EU border. we do not have to make plans what to tell the officers at the entry, if he is going to hide that he is married to an austrian, etc... because they do not really ask and i do not know if they even care. they just let him pass!

sigh. :)

I have been to the Netherlands about 10 times...they never asked me any questions until this last trip. The only thing the girl asked me is "Do you live here?" I said, "No." Then she said, "Oh, because you come here a lot." Then she gave me back my passport and I walked through.

Coming into the US however...they ALWAYS ask me questions. I'm a born citizen too! LOL
