My mother bought me a copy of that movie "not without my daughter" after I came home from the sandbox

I happen to love that picture of me with his hand on my head it makes me smile, I said right before he took it "this is so ghay" :lol:

Lisa, I almost forgot all about that! Thank god my immediate family is not that way but I do have some coworkers and distant (thank god) family that are. Immediately think of the bad without thought to good things. :blink:

Courtney I adore that pic of you too! I think its sweet and yes Ghay in love stuff we do! Is that Aqaba? I love it there! My cousins have a hotel there. It's a dive! :P

I remember telling a patient of mine I went to the Holy Land, and he replied, " You went to Italy." I was like huh?? He's long since passed, but everytime I think about that it makes me chuckle.

Back in the day here cuz i'm an oldie I made a thread about "Not without my Daughter" we omitted the daughter part and added whatever we wanted to get a laugh.

well, for anyone that recommends u that movie, u can recommend zeitgeist. u might watch it too. is up on google movies. I think it has been banned in american theatres, but i might be wrong on that one. doesnt present only one subject, goes through all kind of world "fevers". arabic/terrorism-phobia is one of them. and is nicely elaborated.

Yes it is Aqaba, the movenpick. Hey a dive is still a hotel. You dont have to stay in the room there is shopping the beach ect......

I think WE ALL have the same people asking the same questions!! This is just the craziest topic coz it's soooooo very true!!! I've had people ask me how "my tent" was....how were the camels....stupid, stupid, stupid, ignorant people!! They couldn't believe it when I told them Egyptians ACTUALLY have silverware, glasses, cups, bathrooms, malls and the best one....a freeway system, but really gotta watch the camels... :lol:

Are you sure you REALLY want to marry an Egyptian...like he's from Mars! Please God save me from stupid and ignorant people.

Yes, I've been told to watch Not Without My Daughter too...by my own family! They are convinced he will isolate me from my family and friends and abuse me. And someone at work said "how do you know he's not a terrorist?" LOL. And of course they all say don't go to Iran! And then I got, oh he's Persian? So he's from Persia?

while i was here waiting for my husband to get his visa, i heard a lot of ill ####### from family and so-called friends, usually about terrorism. but i also got the: Well, what if his family kidnaps you and keeps you there and doesn't let you come home?

and then i had a former friend constantly asking: So how's Mahmoud? How's Mahmoud, whatever his name is...?

my husband's name is not Mahmoud.

it gets me mad just remembering it.

My ex told my kids (before he got here) that he had many wives all over the US, and we were all sending him money, and that he had too good of a thing there to come here. He sure messed up a good thing, now he has no women sending money and he is working has A$$ off....sucka!
