I wonder if Filipino's here in America have change their greetings from Merry Christmas to Happy Holiday?

Well i'm the husband to a filipina we still say merry christmas. I am tired of hearing happy holidays. This political correctness gone amuck should stay with the crazies.... i was at college and i was greeted happy holidays and I shot back merry christmas to you too and it was like I commited a mortal sin..

So Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night

GOD BLESS YOU

and it's time to celebrate the birth of our lord and savior JESUS CHRIST

Now i know i will probably offend the athiests pagans and what not.(A blessed christmas to them too) But, that's their problem. Not mine.

I will probably get a TOS warning for saying merry christmas i'm sure and I'm sure in TOS the name JESUS is a derisive and offensive word, but I don't care. And to all the political correct lunatics out there MERRY CHRISTMAS!! may you be loved may you be happy and most of all lay off those who want to call christmas for what it is christmas....

Amen to that! A MERRY CHRISTMAS to all and to all a Good night ! :thumbs:

Hi,

Majority of the people maybe celebrates and observes Christmas but then there are people (like me) who doesn't celebrate or even recognize it because of my religious beliefs but then I am not in anyway grasp or take Merry Christmas greetings to me as an offense especially if I am greeted by people who doesn't know my religion.

I grew up never had Noche Buena and such but I am one in celebrating the festivity because seeing people especially Filipinos jolly during this season does make my feelings good.

In short, it's all about being merry this season and however you greet me or I greet you, as long as it comes from the heart..that's all that matters.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Say what you feel and if it offends someone and they tell you then let them know it was not meant to do that. Most will never say a thing that you just offended them. They may not return your greeting, but I would not take that to heart. If you mean well that is what matters the most.

:star: I would rather stick to MERRY CHRISTMAS. I don't want to take Christ out of the greeting. After all, He IS the reason for this joyous season. Without Him, there won't be HAPPY HOLIDAYS! :star:

But yeah, I must say we ought to respect all. That means we should not be too quick to offer this Christian message (Merry Christmas), as you may very well be talking to a non-Christian person , or somebody who's celebrating any of the other holidays collectively included in this season.

By respect, I mean also to include NOT being too easily offended when somebody greets you in a way you do not approve of. Corrections can always be made (and taken) in a very friendly manner.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL CHRISTIANS!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE ELSE CELEBRATING!
