I wonder if Filipino's here in America have change their greetings from Merry Christmas to Happy Holiday?

Well i'm the husband to a filipina we still say merry christmas. I am tired of hearing happy holidays. This political correctness gone amuck should stay with the crazies.... i was at college and i was greeted happy holidays and I shot back merry christmas to you too and it was like I commited a mortal sin..

So Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night

GOD BLESS YOU

and it's time to celebrate the birth of our lord and savior JESUS CHRIST

Now i know i will probably offend the athiests pagans and what not.(A blessed christmas to them too) But, that's their problem. Not mine.

I will probably get a TOS warning for saying merry christmas i'm sure and I'm sure in TOS the name JESUS is a derisive and offensive word, but I don't care. And to all the political correct lunatics out there MERRY CHRISTMAS!! may you be loved may you be happy and most of all lay off those who want to call christmas for what it is christmas....

I think the idea of saying Happy Holidays has gone one step to far to the right or left, which ever way you want to look at it. The fact that you say Merry Christmas does not have to be taken away. If the person you say it to takes offense do not worry to much. The truth is saying Merry Christmas can mean many things and I don't see why anybody should be offended by it.

Christmas day is not the real day for the birth of Jesus. His birth celebration was moved to that day so the church could make the pagans feel more at home and want to convert. Then along comes Coke Cola and they add in the idea of Saint Nick, which is based on a German story. So by saying Merry Christmas you are including most of the world population and the ones you are I don't know what to say.......

I for one will always try to say have a Merry Christmas.

Wasn't asked of me but I will answer :P

I don't think anyone should stop saying what they celebrate to others that celebrate. I say Merry Christmas to all my co-workers @ work but I also say Happy Channukah and Happy Eid to those that celebrate. What's the big deal...I don't get it. I do think tho that saying Merry Christmas to someone you KNOW does not celebrate is just ignorant and rude...

I have a mixed family of Muslims, Jewish and Christians so we always have celebrations going on!

Merry Christmas Everyone and a very Happy Healthy and Blessed New Year! (F)

Since "Christmas" as it is celebrated today is just the Pagan holiday Yule with a Xian spin on it, bet your ####### I'm going to say "Happy Holidays" rather than Merry Christmas.

See, By saying Happy Holidays rather than "Happy Yule!", I am acknowledging that you might have your own holiday to celebrate rather than the one I celebrate. Happy Holidays is a non-confrontational way of offering holiday greetings. I don't get offended if someone tells me "Merry Christmas", even though I'm not Christian. I wouldn't be offended if I were wished a Happy Hanukkah either. I know that there tend to be some zealots here in the US who WOULD be offended if I wished them a Merry Yule though, so I stick to Happy Holidays.

Who's REALLY the intolerant one?

I doubt the person thought you committed a mortal sin, but I'll bet they were shocked by your vehemence in wishing them a "MERRY CHRISTMAS!!"

Zealots tend to shock and frighten everyone.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Not filipino, but I will still say Merry Christmas as I always have done and I will still send Christmas cards which say the same. It won't bother me what anyone wishes me.

Please accept, with no obligation (implied or implicit), my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non addictive, gender neutral, celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious or secular persuasion and practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all . . . and a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great (not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country or is the only "AMERICA" in the western hemisphere), and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith, choice of computer platform, choice of DTH/DBS stereo system, or sexual orientation of the wishee.

(By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms. This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others, and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year, or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher. So there.)
