Can I notarize documents in another country that is not my home country?

Hi all,

Does anyone know if I can get documents notarized from any other country? I live in London but am currently in Sweden for xmas. Can I just get my Affidavits notarized here?

All a notary is doing is confirming identity of the person signing the document, as well as giving oath that the contents of the doc is true and accurate.

All a notary is doing is confirming identity of the person signing the document, as well as giving oath that the contents of the doc is true and accurate.

In most cases, USA and UK for example, a Notary just witnesses signatures and sometimes can attest to something being a true photocopy. In China and perhaps some other countries, "Notarial Services" are offerred by government agencies that can give an oath of true and accurate information. Affidavits just need signatures attested to, so if such services are offerred in Sweden, all is well but don't be expecting oaths of true and accurate contents from most notaries.
