Sending Packet 3

Still no updates on the K-3 end of things. I am hoping the consulate processes the packet 3 response my wife sent from last Thursday. I got a reply from an e-mail I sent the consulate e-mail address only last night so I know they're backed up with work.

What's going on with the rest of you on this end?

Hi,

I just would like to get some guidance. We already paid $70 and the DS-3032 has been sent to NVC and the online payment system has been updated as "PAID", what will we do next? Shall we download I-864 forms, comply it and support it with the required documents? Shall the I-864 be sent ahead of the DS-230? or will they go together?

Guys,

On the instruction packet, what did you check off? I checked off the following:

Passport

Photos

Birth Certificate

Marriage Certificate

Proof of Relationship

Police Report

Affidavit of Support

Termination of previous marriage does not apply so i know I don't need to check that one. And Medical report remains unchecked because my wife can't do the medical without Packet 4.

What about Application Forms or Fees? Should those be checked at this time?

Also where should Packet 3 be couriered to?

I have the following, is it right?

Hi,

The consulate processed our K-3 response packet. Everything was good. They scheduled a Feb 26 interview date. So my wife is waiting to receive the Packet 4. Not thrilled with the interview date but I guess no one is.

For anyone asking here is exactly what we did and sent:

My wife and I exacty sent the following:

1. DS-230 Part 1 completed by and signed by beneficiary

2. DS-2001 Notification of Applicant Readiness, completed and signed by beneficiary

3. K-3 Checklist- With everything checked except for 1) Application Forms 2) Termination of Previous Marriage; Applicant Statement completed and signed by the beneficiary

4. 2 Passport Size Photos of Beneficiary

5. 1 Copy of Beneficiary's Passport Biographic Page

I sent the Packet 3 response to:

U.S. Consulate General, Mumbai

Lincoln House

78 Bhulabhai Desai Road

Mumbai, India 400 026

A couple of comments/tips:

1. Try to have your case number in as many places as possible. I had my wife write the case number in the upper right corner of each page we sent, in the back of her passport photos an on the envelope she used to send all the documents, under the address. This is in case anything gets separated.

2. You may want to add "ATTN: Immigrant Visa Section" to the address. I did, but I don't think it's as big a deal as writing in the case numbers.

3. I have seen nothing from the Consulate that specifically requests the 2 passport size photos or the copy of the biographic page. I sent it on the advice of other VJ'ers and the fact that sending these 2 items can not possibly hurt our case.
