I had my AOS Interview today

So here it goes. We had a 10:30 am appointment this morning at the JFK building in Boston. The wife (USC) and I had all our documents with us. We had my wife's last three years of tax returns, our 2005 joint tax returns, Joint document, pictures, awholllle lot (Keep this in mind for later).

We took the commuter train because we didn't want to have to deal with traffic (it can be really bad at times in the morning going into the city) and we didn't want to have to deal with parking. Oh i forgot to mention we left really early, so when we got into Boston we had well over an hour before our interview appointment. So we got breakfast, well my wife did, I was way too nervous to eat lol. After breakfast we had to hop on the subway and 15 minutes later we were at JFK (9:20 AM),

We knew we were early but we were there so we decided to go in. We had to go through the checkpoint with a security guard, just like any federal building. Made it past that with a breeze and headed down a long hallway, took a right, left, bla, bla and got the the interview waiting room. Their was a guard at the door checking appointment letters, he checked ours and asked if we had a representive and we replied "no" and so he told us to proceed to the front desk to check-in. We checked in with the lady, and again she asked if we had a representive (my wife got worried and nervous because we didn't bring anyone, but I told her we would be fine) and again we replied no. Their was about 20-30 people sitting down waiting and their was a T.V on for our viewing pleasure! So I told my wife get comfortable this is going to be awhile! BOY was I wrong. My wife and my name were called at 9:40 for a 10:30 appointment, WOW we thought! So we got a lady and she seemed nice and she lead us through this long narrow hallway and brought her to her office space, which happened to be a cubical, their were abunch of cubical's and thats where our interview took place.

She told me to have a seat next to her desk and told my wife to sit in front of me. She told us to stand up and swore us in "Promise to tell the truth....." So then we sat down and she asked for my wife's ID, and if she had her SS Card, which she did so she gave her both. She then asked for my license and passport, but I told her I didn't have my license yet, but I had my Passport. She then looked at my I-94 and ripped it out my passport, took some copies and asked why I overstayed so long (Overstayed 18 years of my B-2 Visa) and I answered her that my parents decided to stay and I was just alittle boy then. It was a crappy answer but it was the truth and she didn't seem to care. She then asked for my wife's 2005 tax return and her letter of employment. We gave her those and she told my wife to just relax she done with her. Those were the only documents she asked '05 TAX RETURN and LETTER OF EMPLOYMENT.

She then proceeded to ask the YES/NO questions, like am I terrorist, Am I into prostitution and so on....hard not to laugh at her, but I had to be serious and answer no to all her questions. She then asked how we met. and I told her but she didn't really seem to care, she smiled but at the same time checking off her paperwork. This is where I offered to show her our pictures from the wedding, and she replied like this "Well I guess I could....actually I better not, maybe another time" and I'm thinking "their wont be another time!". She never asked my wife any questions, so she then said "ohh I'm going to write up a letter stating we granted your card" she never said that we were approved, just said she was typing it up and she gave us a letter stating my card was going to be ordered and that I should be getting my green card in 2 weeks/1 mont :thumbs: h. She never stamped my passport. Over all the interview was wayyyy to easy, she was very nice and it lasted about 30-40 minutes, where mostly she writing and checking things off. CASE APPROVED! :dance:
