We filed for a K3 visa and we got both I-130 & I-129 petitions approved on the same date. My husband & I been talking about the advantages and disadvantages of K3 from CR-1. Well we came up with our final decision to proceed to CR-1 instead of K3. But the problem is, I don't know how to do it. I've been browsing this site & Mr. Google since last night just to find out what to do first to proceed to CR-1. Do we need to call the NVC to inform them that we want to push through the CR-1 instead of the K3? How long does it takes to complete the process in NVC before they send it to our consulate here in Philippines? Is there anyone here who can give me an idea how long would it take to get an interview date in US Embassy in Manila from the date that NVC received our approved petition?

Any help or info you could offer will be highly appreciated. :star:

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!

Just ignore the mail you get for the K-3. Follow the CR-1 steps at NVC.
