I was wondering if there's any chance of upgrading the Removal of Conditions and Citizenship sections of the timeline function to include more filtering, statistics and possibly estimated processing dates (if enough data exists). I noticed now that we are going through Removal of Conditions fewer people are posting their timelines in the timeline section -- most are only adding their info to the VSC Filers and CSC Filers threads on the forums.

Some possible enhancements I can think of:

- Expanding the timeline search feature (which now seems to only cover visas) to post-visa processes like AOS, Removal of Conditions, and Naturalization

- Adding more of the statistical graphs and charts for processes like Removal of Conditions, if there is sufficient data

- Adding more filtering options: for example, in Removal of Conditions, I'd like to filter by both VSC and TSC, since all TSC filers in the past year were eventually forwarded to VSC and both groups are being processed together

- Add estimated processing times if feasible (although I realize it might not work if there are not enough recent timelines in these categories)

Thanks for all your work and continual improvements, I can't even imagine how we'd have gotten through all these immigration processes without this site!

There's been plenty of people on VJ before pushbrk came along that knew a heck of a lot more about immigration
I never said that there weren't.
than he could ever hope for
Meaning? (he asked respectfully)
and they certainly were never put on Admin's pedestal.
I read my post again, and I don't read that I suggested this.
In fact, they were pretty much used, abused and tossed out.
I'm sorry to hear it. Used, abused, and tossed out by whom? To remain semifaithful to the Cap'n's original thread: Would a "History of VJ" forum or guide-type page be of interest, where stories and details of, from, and about the icons of VJ could be posted?

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

If we ever had a Q&A with a Consulate Officer (not a bad idea)[...]
I doubt that having a Q&A with a currently serving CO would be productive, or even feasible. The CO would be hesitant to be frank, or would provide only generic "fluff" answers (that is, no true insights), or would toe an official party line. Better would be to seek a former or retired CO who has experience in both high-fraud and low-fraud environments, AND who has served as a CO recently enough to have meaningful information and insights on current policies and procedures.

Some policies and procedures, such as those in place at the rogue consulate in Guayaquil, Ecuador, can likely never be explained.

rebecca,

pushbrk is by far the most knowledgeable and accomplished vjer I've ever had the pleasure of reading.

In fact, I do believe Ewok should step down and hand over the reigns of power to him instead.

He's earned it.

apparently you've never heard of the mermaid, and becca can hold her own with anyone.

pushbrk approaches god though, in his infinite wisdom.

He's a @#$%$#@#$.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

He is a God in his own world

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Here is another very fundamental detail that needs to be fixed, PLEASE:

In the Embassy Reviews under "Ecuador," the location choice is Quito (the capital city). Although the U.S. Embassy is indeed in Quito, the family-based visas are NOT processed there -- they are processed at the (rogue, illegitimate) consulate in Guayaquil. Just look at how many posted embassy reviews have pointed this out, and we can see the reason why the change from "Quito" to "Guayaquil" is necessary.

Yes, this change affects only a small percentage of VJ members, but yes, it's an important matter of accuracy for that small percentage of members. Cap'n, you've been so responsive and quick with the other adjustments, certainly you'll take care of this one, too.

Not sure if this is even possible or if I can even articulate what I am thinking in an understandable fashion, but I'll give it a shot - just bear with me!

I really wish there was an easier way other than just the email update option to keep track of conversations/updates of a subscribed thread - especially the very large and conversationally busy threads. I know visajourney is a forum based site and thus rss/atom feeds would probably greatly hinder the "community aspect" and nobody would reply to questions or ever even bother logging in... that would be horrible... BUT I really wish there was something similar to an rss/atom thingy that could some how be incorporated within the site that would keep the interaction just as good as it is now yet much easier to track and reply to ongoing posts and such .. The email option is fine if it's used for a short thread or specific question, but when the thread is pushing 3000+ entries by multiple people it becomes disorganized and confusing (for me at least). Is there any way to implement some better sort of tracking method?

Ach I am probably the only person who feels this way and I don't mean this as a criticism or anything! Just an idea. And sorry if I don't make any sense whatsoever! I just can't simply sit on a thread all day long clicking "refresh" every 30 seconds. :P Is there anything

Thanks so much!

As of:

June 26, 2012 - The Hubbs received his 10-year Permanent Residency Card (aka THE Greencard) in the mail today!

At long last, this highly stressful leg of our journey has come to a close - for now - and we couldn't be more grateful and appreciative for all the tremendous help and support here on VJ! Without VisaJourney I doubt we would be where my husband and I are today! Thanks to all!
