i'd like to see a subform for "K-3 Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports" like the "K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports"

I will take a peak to see if there are enough posts to make this happen. Also @all, please lets keep this on topic. I really hope to spend some serious time making upgrades on areas of the site that most need them.

Very minor typos that hardly anybody will notice, but I was bored:

1) Change “US CIS and Dept of State Offices” to “USCIS...” without the space in the middle

2) Change “This can include bringing children, parents and brothers and sisters. For spouses please see the Marriage Based Category above.” to “This can include bringing children, parents, and siblings (for spouses please click here).”

3) Almost Every Word is Capitalized in the following Sentence: “This Section is for Immigration Related News and Discussion” which is fine but is not consistent in the “General Discussion” area.

4) In Example Forms: Change “Special thanks to the the many members of usenet...” to only 1 the in the sentence ;)

5) Last but not least: In the “Guides” tab underneath the heading “Immigration Guides for Family Members:” change “Children of US Citzens or Permanent Residents:” to “Children of US Citizens...”

India, gun buyback and steamroll.

rebecca,

pushbrk is by far the most knowledgeable and accomplished vjer I've ever had the pleasure of reading.

In fact, I do believe Ewok should step down and hand over the reigns of power to him instead.

He's earned it.

apparently you've never heard of the mermaid, and becca can hold her own with anyone.

pushbrk approaches god though, in his infinite wisdom.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

If we ever had a Q&A with a Consulate Officer (not a bad idea) I am certain we would pre-moderate posts. I can't image what may happen if we did not!@

Ditto with AOS. Too much fluff mixed in with the questions of people needing help. I thought the separation was good when I was in the K1 process. Don't get me wrong, I like the fluff, but there's so many people in AOS (coming from a K, F, J, visitor visas, VWP etc.) that it's a crowded place, and the fluff pushes the informational posts off the page in minutes it seems.

I know, I know :bonk: Non-forum related.

Finally, I sincerely urge that the VJ member pushbrk be specifically consulted and heeded regarding potential improvements to the VJ system. I have no right to volunteer him, but he has remarkable knowledge and common sense that apply to many different areas of VJ.

Thank you for your receptivity.

There's been plenty of people on VJ before pushbrk came along that knew a heck of a lot more about immigration than he could ever hope for, and they certainly were never put on Admin's pedestal. In fact, they were pretty much used, abused and tossed out.

And NO, I'm certainly NOT referring to myself!

I LOL'd

Elaborating on my vote for Embassy/USCIS-POE reviews:

I would like the reviews to be divided into high ratings and low rating sections. And also if they could be divided into "visa received" "visa not received" "put on AP" and "other" sections.

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

I met you half way on this (at least for now). I changed to Review Section so you can now sort by Rating (<= Great, <= Good, Poor). This way you can list only the reviews of the "lowness" that you are trying to find (or list them all if you want (default)). I figured people may want too find out the bad apples so this was an important update to make (thanks for the suggestion!).

IMO, the problem I have observed with the K1 sub-forum is that a lot of information gets buried in the talk of timelines, etc. I suppose there is no way to stop this as threads are conversational in nature and you can't (and shouldn't) stop nature. But - I think separating and separating and separating doesn't make it easier to get rid of the 'fluff'. Rather it makes it harder to find the informational and educational posts. I'd prefer to see no more subforums created, personally. I do believe wholeheartedly that it is getting harder and harder to find answers around here.

When the K1 sub-forum was created, it was suggested by Yodrak that rather than create a single sub-forum for talk of processing times for the K1 only, that a single sub-forum be created for all the visa types. He called it a 'yippee' forum for people to post news of approvals as well as for folks to commiserate about delays. IMO the advantage to such a forum would be that readers would learn their particular visa type is not the only one subject to delays. It would also make it easier for readers to see how the Service Centers performance seems to fluctuate.

Ultimately IMO the best way to manage information vs. processing issues would be for members to be able to find useful, easy-to-read timeline data provided by Site Administration rather than compiling it themselves.
