AJ - how's the naturalization application coming along? Any movement for you all?

Yea, interview in 5 weeks. Newark has same-day oath, so assuming she passes civics test, almost exactly 4 months start to finish.

That's fantastic! :dance: Jacksonville didn't have same-day oath, but he was naturalized on 4th of July - which had to be the coolest thing. Also, if you're interested in getting her a very cool gift, (cuz really, what do you give someone for naturalizing?) have a flag hung over the US Capitol for her.

Well, I had a flag flown over the Capitol for my husband. It is very cool - look on your US Congressman's webpage and you should find something about the flag. For a very small amount, (we did it for $25) they will fly a flag in your wife's name in honor of her receiving her US Citizenship, over the Capitol. It comes with a signed certificate from your Congressman and the Architect of the Capitol. Then, you take the flag to Michael's and get a special flag box for like $20. Present the flag in the box, with the certificate together. My husband was truly touched - got very emotional when he saw it. :cry:

A good funny joke for you all:

I had ambitions of finding a simple, uncomplicated part time job after retiring from my 'day job'. Unfortunately, as I have gotten a little older, I have become a little less sensitive.

So after landing my new job as a Wal-Mart greeter, a good find for many retirees, I lasted less than a day...... About two hours into my first day on the job a very loud, unattractive, mean-acting woman walked into the store with her two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance.

As I had been instructed, I said pleasantly, ' Good morning , and welcome to Wal-Mart. Nice children you have there. Are they twins?' The ugly woman stopped yelling long enough to say, 'Hell no, they ain't twins. The oldest one's 9, and the other one's 7. Why the hell would you think they're twins? Are you blind, or just stupid?'

So I replied, 'I'm neither blind nor stupid, Ma'am, I just couldn't believe you got laid twice. Have a good day and thank you for shopping at Wal-Mart.'

My supervisor said I probably wasn't cut out for this line of work....... I'm still job-hunting.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:
