Outrage!

My boss didn't give me a Christmas present. For the third year in a row. Tsk tsk.

Even I knew you wouldn't get one. Especially seeing he won't buy them for his wife.

Yeah, I remember that discussion we had with him. He got her a waterpik last Saturday - they went to the store and just bought it and he said - well, you always wanted it, so there you have it. He could have just bought it behind her back, wrapped it and put it under the tree as a surprise. I would not like to have a partner who doesn't make an effort to buy me a surprise gift, who is not putting any thought into it. Just like giving someone a voucher. A gift is about emotional value.

Thanks, its been 7 1/2 months too long.

WOW! :o

I was lucky and never had to spend more than a month apart from mine. Will the next time you see him be when your visa is approved?

I think so. Just 8 1/2 days over christmas, hoping for an interview mid Jan. Hopefully coming back to the US in March.

So I was just watching the news and am saddened about the numbers of people who are stranded because of this weather. The Greyhound buses couldn't make it through Seattle, so they literally just left people at the station. People are stuck at the airport and only 20 flights left Seatac yesterday. Twenty....all the hotels are full and people are just stuck. It hurts my heart to see it. For the most part people are pretty good natured. It's not as if they can do anything about it, but many of them are in transit so it's not as though they can just go home. The vendors in the airport are actually running out of supplies, plus who can afford to buy three days' worth of food for their family in an airport. Those prices are astronomical.

I wish I could go down there with a giant box of cookies and granola bars and water bottles and chocolate milk (for the kids) and just hand stuff out to people. Seriously, if my freaking car would make it there, I'd do it.
