Exactly.

In this case of foreign countries, the chances of the first child dying is very high. Not only this is the cause for such high births. It is also the belief that the more the children, the greater a chance for one them to succeed in life.

Well maybe it's better to have one or two children and actually *take care of them*

(I know! what a concept!) instead of leaving it up to random chance?

Mark...they need extra for backup incase one dies and all that. DUH!
