Help with POE

Hello,

I'm about to finally go to the states to live with my wife in a couple of days. My POE is LAX and I have an IR1 visa. I was wondering if you guys know what forms I need to fill out at the immigration. And do I line up in the tourist line or the US Citizen/Permanent Resident line?

Also any advice on POE - LAX? My flight is arriving on Monday at around 2 in the afternoon so I think there might be a lot of people so it will take a while for me to get through immigration.

Thanks a lot!

I'm guessing USC/PR line (unfortunately, I activated my own GC @ Dorval/Montréal's PFI, which doesn't separate the lines that way).

You will need to give the MBE to the inspecting official, and will be taken into another room for fingerprinting--after which you will be given a I-551 stamp in your passport.

2005/07/10 I-129F filed for Pras

2005/11/07 I-129F approved, forwarded to NVC--to Chennai Consulate 2005/11/14

2005/12/02 Packet-3 received from Chennai

2005/12/21 Visa Interview Date

2006/04/04 Pras' entry into US at DTW

2006/04/15 Church Wedding at Novi (Detroit suburb), MI

2006/05/01 AOS Packet (I-485/I-131/I-765) filed at Chicago

2006/08/23 AP and EAD approved. Two down, 1.5 to go

2006/10/13 Pras' I-485 interview--APPROVED!

2006/10/27 Pras' conditional GC arrives -- .5 to go (2 yrs to Conditions Removal)

2008/07/21 I-751 (conditions removal) filed

2008/08/22 I-751 biometrics completed

2009/06/18 I-751 approved

2009/07/03 10-year GC received; last 0.5 done!

2009/07/23 Pras files N-400

You will also need to fill out the blue customs declaration form on the aircraft... The flight crew might try to give you an I-94 (white form) but you do not need it... just say you are a resident and residents do not require this form...

YMMV

Thank you CherryXS and payxibka.

I hope my POE doesn't take too long and will be as smooth as possible. I can't wait to see my wife again and spend Xmas with her.

So is it safe to line up in the USC/Permanent Resident line (I'm guessing this line will be faster)? I can't seem to get a definite answer on this.
