Nobody truly knows how long it is going to take to process. That is the hard part, not knowing when our lucky day will arrive.

Good luck with your journey , your not alone in the "waiting game"

it will take at least 8 month, so if you have money, go and visit him, before you both will be completely crazy.

I am positive that tourist visa has nothing to do with your immigration.

US Embassy must be sure that you will be back.

So you have to "leave" at your country child, good job, house, money, passport with other visas...

From what I've read, it's pretty challenging to get a tourist visa while there is a petition out there- you can adjust status if you come, and the consular officers often deny visitor's visas because of this... I don't think it would hurt to try, though.

guys,

My husband mailed the whole package on the 12/11

this is what i see when i check it online:

Label/Receipt Number: 7008 1300 0001 6177 XXXX

Status: Acceptance

Your item was accepted at 4:03 PM on December 11, 2008 in SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA 96150. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

It was certified mail...priority...they just lost it right???

I called USPS thay said - i will check it and somebody will call you... nothing so far!

Should we mail another package or wait couple more days ?

This time i will be smarter and I wont use USPS...but fedex!

Certified or priority mail via USPS is unpredictable....it will takes more days to arrive to its destination. I don't think your package is misplaced or lost..these days are very hectic due to upcoming holidays. If I were you, I would rather spend $25 for shipping fee via USPS express (next day delivery) rather than sending it using priority or certified mail. Just wait for few more days. Goodluck and have a wonderful christmas and properous new year!!!

"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)
