Maybe you have the receipt number wrong for the USPS package. I wouldn't be so sure it did not reach Chicago. You may want to wait a few weeks and call USCIS if you don't have your NOA1 by then.

Deepak

06/12/09 - POE at Newark (K3)

07/01/09 - I-485 and I-765 mailed

07/06/09 - USCIS received (date on NOA1)

07/13/09 - NOA1 received for both I-485 and I-765 !

08/08/09 - Biometric appointment

08/25/09 - AOS interview letter notice date

09/24/09 - AOS interview

I'd say first call USPS once more. u should have more chance with them than with USCIS, and is probably still in their yard anyways. I'd say is not lost, is just the big load of holidays mail problem. i know postmen work extrahours whole december because of it.

Patita,

Im so sorry to hear that.

Keep checking the USPS website especially at night, its when they update it. Im sure its delayed do to the holiday, cards, packages and etc.

USPS is good about delivering our monthly bills, they never get lost, or delayed, lol

Im sure it will show up soon.
