Hi everyone,

We've been in the US for a little over a month now, and we received my husband's green card in the

mail today! We were on pins and needles waiting for it (and because of the holidays, we weren't sure

if it would take until next year!) but it arrived today.

I can't believe it. I feel so incredibly lucky that we've been able to go through this process without

any major hitches or delays. We had our ups and downs, but we're here -- we're in the USA now --

and we're starting our new life! We fretted over every document, double-triple-quadruple checking

of everything, getting the translations, police documents, co-sponsor, etc.

We'll be moving to San Francisco next month so our next hurdles... and hopefully the last, for a while,

will be finding housing and for him to find a job.

To everyone who is starting the process: Good luck!!!

To everyone who is somewhere in-between: Don't give up hope! There is a light at the end of the

tunnel!

4/10/08 - Married in Istanbul!

5/14/08 - Sent I-130 to Ankara via UPS

5/15/08 - Packet arrived in Ankara at US Embassy

6/2/08 - Received email from Embassy, our interview is schedule for 8/11/08

8/11/08 - Interview at US Embassy in Ankara, I-130 APPROVED!!!!!!

8/13/08 - Visa RECEIVED.....

11/7/08 - Flew from Istanbul to Denver (via JFK)

11/21/08 - SSN received in mail

12/18/08 - Green Card received!!!

I-751 (lifting conditions)

8/10/10 - Sent to California Processing Center

8/20/10 - Received AOS letter

8/26/10 - NOA received biometrics appointment notification

9/16/10 - Biometrics Appointment in San Francisco

10/7/10 - Approved!

Started stressing about visa: From once we decided to move back to the USA

Marriage:20-9-08 :)

I-130 filed at Sydney Consulate: 9-10-08

Applied for Irish police certificate: 10-10-08

Irish police certificate received: 14-10-08

Packet 3 received: 16-10-08

Mailed DS 230 I & II: 16-10-08

Went to local doctor to get immunity levels checked:17-10-08

Made appointment for medical: 17-10-08

Medical: 28-10-08

Posted packet 3: 3-11-08

Applied for Aussie Police certificate: 20-11-08

(Bit of a delay here due to us living in a very ghetto part of Sydney. They could only take fingerprints if they didn't have a suspect in custody. Unfortunately for me, every day I went in, someone was in the slammer. Oh, the joys!)

Received appointment date: 24-11-08

Email requested extra information about husbands income in USA and Aussie police certificate. Also told me to bring US sized passport photo, passport, the money to pay and a 3Kg express post envelope

Appointment Day: 16-12-08

Green card approved but on hold until they receive origional Aussie police certificate: 16-12-08

Hello everyone

Im new here in the forum.

my fiancee ( a US citizen) and I deided to go to the US.

we got engaged last month.

According to this forum the best and the fastest option would be aplying for a DCF.

whats the visa you get when applying for the DCF? do you have to wait until you get the green card? or you can go to the US right after the IV?

Do you know if this option is available in Syria? on the US embassy website, they said US ctizens can apply for an I-130 petition. is it the same?

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
