doctors do work crazy hours but who cares. i am into crazy hours. i may not be when i'm 50 but i don't care now. i just need a husband that doesn't care if i work crazy hours. i'll add that to my list of wants. :jest:

If I become a nurse (only out of necessity), we could work together. Just don't ask me to handle any of the gruesome patients.

I want to do anesthesiology soooooooo...I'll hook you up with all the surgeries

We'll see if that's stil what I want to do once I get to med school. My mom told me most people change their mind and pick another specialty.

I just realized I've never given this topic any real thought.

I have.. I knew I didn't want to marry a doctor, a police man, fire man etc or a truck driver... I wanted to marry someone who had a Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 job...

I grew up with a dad for a truck driver and I just knew I didn't want to do that to my kids

I always wanted an 8-5 job for myself. I have always thought about what I wanted to do, but it was never a serious consideration what my husband would.

Then again, up until the day I met my husband in person, I assumed I would become a Crazy Cat Lady. ;)

I guess I never really thought what I wanted to do outside of being a wife and mother.. so I was always more concerned with what my future husband would be ..lol

I'm not trying to be mean or anything because I'm just curious...what would you have done if you didn't find a husband? Obviously you would have had to have a career.

I think I was spooked from that idea by watching my mother. All she wanted to do was be a wife and mother. Never bothered to get any education or job skills beyond high school. Married the first thing that looked at her and had a good job and had three kids. 10 years later, they were divorced because my father is BSC. My father paid only spotty child support and my mother basically had to support three kids on $7-8 an hour.

Well, needless to say, I learned my lesson.

my mum would definitely loved it if i married a doctor.. hahaha.. and mum said nobody in uniform either (coz my dad is in airforce and we moved around like all my life, until my dad took early retirement that is and been enjoying himself playing golf everyday and check on his lil biz from time to time). like marilyn, id rather have my husband with me most of the time than away, so definitely ive thought re that. and my perfect job will be a flexi hour, half a day kind of job, so i can have external mental stimulation, while being able to go home and take care of things...
