My spouse has an interview for his CR-1 visa on January 16th. So, I have just a few other questions about some of the things that we need to do after he arrives. I'm not sure if I am posting this in the right forum but any advise and help would be greatly appreciated.

I already know that after 2 years of conditional residency we must apply to remove conditions. So does this mean that another green card will be issued for permanent residency for 10 years? We have applied for his SSN on his visa application. I know that he will also need to get a US driver's license. Also, am I to assume that because he will be considered a resident with a CR-1 visa that he does not need to apply for EAD?

Is there anything else that needs to be done with immigrations?

Thanks everyone!

Correct

We have applied for his SSN on his visa application.

Depending on how quickly he needs his SSN (he'll need one to open a bank account, start a job, etc) he may want to go down to your local SSA about 10 days after POE with his passport just to check up on the process. Recent experiences of the 'DS-230 apply for SSN' on this forum have been unreliable/slow so you'll want to keep on top of it.

I know that he will also need to get a US driver's license.

Check on your state's DOL website on how soon he needs to obtain a state license. in Washington it's within 30 days

Also, am I to assume that because he will be considered a resident with a CR-1 visa that he does not need to apply for EAD?

That's right. CR1 have automatic right to work

With the driver's license, I'll echo that it will really just depend on your state.

In Indiana, you can drive up to a year on a foreign license. My husband has pulled it out twice for the police and never had a problem despite the fact that it isn't translated (supposed to be, but...yeah). Now the actual process to get an Indiana driver's license was a whole other kettle of fish.

Correct

LET ME Clarify this, YOU need to file an I-751 within 90 days of the 2 year green-card's expiration to remove conditions then get a 10 year card, it is NOT automatic.
