So we've finally received the wifey's GC in the mail today. Yay!

The GC looks simple in the front. Back looks sophisticated. Hologram looks unique and the color of the card is white (not green at all). Totally looks different from the old style GC that I had 15 years ago. (was pink)

I checked the card and all the information seems correct. *Whew*

Now before lifting the conditions which is less than two years away, what should we be doing in the meantime.

I know we will be going to DMV and SSN to update them on the status.

Other than compiling more supporting documents and looking at the lifting conditions guide. Is there a guide on what do to after receiving the GC.

Thanks.

I think aside from what you mentioned (DMV and SSN) there's nothing much to do but to enjoy the rest from USCIS for about 21 months :) .Congratulations on your wife's GC!!!

Yes, definitely update SSN!

Just curious, what type of update is needed at DMV? we did not update as I got a regular license (6 years validity) with my EAD.

Saludos,

Caro

Some states will only issue a DL with the same expiry date as the EAD, so once you have your greencard you can get your DL extended to the expiry date of your Greencard.
