Hi everyone,

I would like some help with regards to the processing of my daughter's k2 application. i have just been interviewed by Homeland Security and the guy who interviewed me said to expect my green card within 2-3 weeks.

Now, I want to start processing my daughter's k2 application. My USC husband included her name in the I-129 application when we filed it in the Philippines. I have so many questions as follows:

1. Who files the application? me or my USC husband?

2. What form do we use?

3. What documents do I need to prepare for the processing?

4. Would you know how long it usually takes for the K2 processing?

5. How much do we have to pay?

I hope someone out there who has undergone the same process can help me out here please. I miss my daughter so much and I would want to bring her here to the US before May 2009 since that is the date I was approved for my US visa in the Philippines. Thank you so much for your help!

God bless you all!

Firstly was your daughter listed on your I-129F if so, and it has been less than a year since you got K-1, contact the consulate and request to start K-2 "Follow to Join" They will then send out P-3 packet for the K-2.

Note Most consulates want the parent to attend the child's K-2 interview.

Children (unmarried and below 21 years of age) of a K-1 applicant may derive immigration benefits from the same I-129 petition and are issued “K-2” visas. Children identified in the approved I-129F petition are called “derivatives”. Derivatives may apply at the same time as the principal applicant parent or may apply later, but must be issued K-2 visas within one year from the date the K-1 visa was issued to the principal applicant parent. Derivatives who are following-to-join the principal applicant parent must apply for their K-2 visas in a timely manner to allow visa issuance within the required period.

3) USC prepares same as he did for your interview

4) Consulate specific... contact Manila

5) $131 for visa, medical and delivery fee
