Alabama receives $1.66 in federal tax money for every dollar they send to Washington (mostly at NJ's expense, the #2 donor state). No wonder they can afford to lure foreign investment!

Fck foreign investment. How about some American investment. See how Alabama feels when Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Mazda take over NASCAR.

You have an excellent point! I love the irony of the "real" Americans and patriots in the south cheering the demise of the american auto industry in a time of war.

And these are the same ones who had nightmares when Toyota was allowed to race in NASCAR.

Of course when we compare tax subsidies between the North and South....

We must keep in mind no one things the BIG THREE will be around much longer, no matter how much money they borrow.

These tax breaks down south are working out pretty good for all involved (that's why they keep doing them).

If a small town somewhere offers free property tax for five years to toyota, you calculate that Lost revenue up and say "look how much we lost".

Truth is, that vacant farm land was bringing in almost no tax revenue anyway, now we have hundreds of jobs and new business's springing up..... all paying taxes.

To compare these two situations is kinda foolish.

The only thing in common is CARS.
