Actually I have heard of stem cell treatments where the wrong set of stem cells is implanted in the wrong part of the body - and you can end up with hair and teeth growing in places they aren't supposed to.

I would guess that some natural defect has resulted in the same outcome.

Of course. The culture conditions and growth factors added to stem cell stocks make them begin their expression program as individual cells. Nevertheless, if they are still primed before the point of no return for cell-fate... then they could revert back to 'pluripotent' state and use environmental cues from the implant site to assimilate into 'normal' cells.

That is a concern with treatment with stem cells but its outcome as such is pretty unlikely.

Nah why?? Multiple personality interesting..could be how would we know. Multiple personality I have seen are people who had v tragic youth before they could externalize. they create this other persona to escape the occurance psychological as well as physical pain.
