Shannon, that store also has an ebay store, just search for Silk Wedding Designs. Sometimes her prices are cheaper on there than her website.

oooh thanks for the tip! :star:

We don't know yet, she's leaving to be a rep with a travel company and the season runs from April until November. It's highly doubtful that she'll make it but if it happens last minute then that will be great. I suppose we should be expected to change our plans any time with what we are all going through right now.

Has anyone ever used/know anyone who's used baby's breath in a bouquet? I love the look of it, but I hear it smells like pee :(.

As for bridesmaid dresses, sometimes it's easier to look in prom dresses than at actual wedding shops. Sometimes teeny bopper stores like the Deb Shop have AMAZING deals on very pretty gowns.

Since me and Sebastian were going to go the cheesecake route, here are more pics for you to salivate over Shannon! I'm not sure you'd even have to hire someone to make it. We were looking at the supermarket and they had GORGEOUS cheesecakes for $25 each. Just get a nice cake stand and buy 3 of them, walaa!

Oh, and is anyone else having engagement photos done?

Thanks for that. It certainly looks pretty :). Although my impression is that he's planning a lot more food than shown here on the photo. For both of us the food is the most important thing, everything else... Being colour blind, I could not care less about coordinating napkins, table cloths, dresses flowers... way too much stress for something that I can't even appreciate B) so I'm off that rollercoaster....

Thanks again for the photo, I'll forward it on and let you know eventually how closely it matched ;)

Here's that BBQ picture I promised for whoever it was that was thinking of doing this!

 Don't know about it smelling like pee... maybe I've just never been around it in large qtys. Usually there's not that much in arrangements - maybe for that reason?? If you really like it maybe you could pair it with really fragrant flowers or let it 'air out' on it's own to get rid of any smell?

I like the 3 tier cheesecake look you posted... looks really pretty and Nick can get his strawberries on top too! :)

I was thinking about the prom places for our 13 year old's dress :) Great minds! :)

Wow, that certainly looks fab! But Shannon, how do you keep all bugs in Florida away from it? ;). It looks like it could be the main attraction for two legged, multi-legged and all sort of winged creatures

OMG sooo true! Maybe just bring it out for the piccys and then bring it back into the house with the rest of the food. We're planning on decorating the inside a bit too... so hopefully we can have a pretty banquet table thing going with food, cake and decorations on it.

Now... on to big business. Keeping those d*mn fire ants away!!!!!!!!

Would it be too mean to show the guests just the photo of the cake they would have enjoyed had it not been for the bugs? ;) And whoever had that task should have a pretty good medical insurance

Can't have a girl flower girl without having a boy ring bearer or you will be sexist. Was a ring bearer for one of my aunts' wedding, as a boy of course, recall carrying the rings on a violet colored pillow with gold trim on it. Also recall being told a zillion times to be careful and not to drop them. Oh, you also need someone at your wedding telling everybody what to do, self appointed of course. LOL.

You are a riot!

Definitely guys, you'd need someone to tell everybody what to do, so that the bride and groom wont be so frazzled.

p/s: the cheesecakes look yummy! another recent thing on this side of the world is people having cupcakes in lieu of the traditional wedding cakes. which i think is nice too! we had cupcakes on our main banquet table as a gift from a family friend. however, me and ryan never get to eat it, coz my brothers and cousins got to it first. the thing is, bride and groom get to eat very little during the ceremony coz we had to rush changing clothes, cutting cake, then wait at the door and shake people hands while they leave.. after everybody but family left, we finallyyyyy get to pig out, sing karaoke, and hang out with the family.

The bouquets that I made for my bridesmaids contained baby's breath...They smelled just fine. I highly recommend making your own bouquet, it is much cheaper.

Hi guys. I just got back from a long day of hanging out with my friend and trying on dresses. It wasn't as good as an experience as I hoped to have but I did progress in a few ideas mentally on what I'm looking for. I know for a fact that a big train is out as it's too much for me to handle and that I'm stuck between a size 6 and a size 8 and the store we went to didn't have much to try on in those sizes, let alone styles I was looking for so that was a bummer. One dress looked nice but it wasn't singing to me, also I didn't want to buy on impulse and buy on the first trip so I'll try again another time at another place. Has anyone got a custom made dress? What are the steps in doing that? Do they do preliminary measurements, order it and then have you come back for another fitting?
