Hello guys,

I was already asking this question in some posts, but noone could really give me an answer. Therefore, I try it once more hoping that someone else might know that doesn't read the June/July/August threads.

My SO and I found out on Dec 1 on an infopass appointment that our case got assigned to an officer on Nov 13 2008 and that our case doesn't show any complications thus far. This is one month ago and nothing happened yet. We get worried and wonder how much longer this might take.

Does anybody know or was given any info by USCIS on what waiting period you have to expect once your case got assigned?

Thanks in advance for reading this and your help all along our bumpy road!

It looks like you received your NOA1 almost 6 months ago. I would suggest you keep calling and asking at what stage it is. Do note that USCIS is oft times called the "misinformation line". I would think that 6 months is about the "average" time they'll say it takes to get your NOA2, but that depends on how busy they are. Make an inquiry, and I think by the new year, if you haven't heard anything, I'd be calling/writing your US representative to make inquiries for you.

Hope your case moves swiftly thereafter!

Yeah, we will hit the 6 months mark this coming week. We already prepared letters to our senator, congressman and the judiciary committee of USCIS which will be sent out at the end of this week. We hope that one of it will bring success at least in the beginning of January. My S/O has another infopass appointment this friday. So, yeah, we bug them.

The good news is we got assigned and the lady said it is good news. But how long from there must we wait?
