I can't claim the money that my hubby sent to me...

they said the local bank of xoom here in PI has a problem and I was told that it might a week before I can claim my money... like, #######????

I tried BDO, Cebuana, all of them can't give me my money.

Everytime they are checking my Code, it says no transaction, where in fact, xoom sent an email my hubby said its ready for pick-up!

There is no "bank of xoom" that I know of in the RP There is a xoom.com and they will deliver money to your house, to your bank account or to a place for you to pick it up.

Getting your husband's money depends on where he sent it.

Ask your hubby to email them,i have had the same problem a few weeks ago SO sent me money through my bank account and XOOM says my bank here have rejected the transaction..He then emailed them to just cancel the transaction...The following day xoom sent my SO an emailsaying that the money has already deposited into my account..What the heck!!????xoom seems to have something going on...anyways,the money then stucked in the bank for good 18 days;and i kept going to my bank showing them the tracking number and they might thought i am a NUTS..i then went to BDO to see if the money was already there as my SO was terribly pissed *** this time,The teller says the money is there but not ready for imbursement grrrrr.......anyways,my instinct says you might need to have the secret word...otherwise your hubby need to email them to cancel the transaction...Relax you're not alone,i've been through all that also...but one never learn as we still using xoom Goodluck,

I'm claiming most of the time at Cebuana with secret word and never had encounter such problem.

You can track the transaction if it is ready for pick up here..i type mo lang yung tracking number mo..

i have used xoom alot and never had problems except this time it has been 2 days and money is still being transfered but all the money has gone to bank account in rcbc bank any way good luck hope they clear up there problem

hi,u can get it in BDO wer i can always get my money.i just got xoom money today for my fiance and i got it today.me and fiance using xoom while he send me money...for me i dont have problem for xoom..maybe ur control # is not right.just check ur number and the number must be 15 number..so just check it again..hope u got ur money soon...Good luck

We never had problems with xoom but did have problems with one of the pickup locations, after Radz quized them about it, she found out there computer was down and they could not check, she then went to a different location and had the money in minutes. There are lots of locations in PI that you can pick up xoom, lots of banks and lots of pawnshops also do xoom transactions. I thinks you should try different bank or pawn shop that accept xoom.

I've been using XOOM for almost 2 years and they never gave me headaches until now.

Luckily, I was patient enough to go to different picking up station. I end up claiming my money in Cebuana too.

I don't know if its xoom which has a problem or just these dumb people I happen to talk.

I first went to Cebuana branch which I always go to claim money from my hubby. Then they told me they are OFFLINE. Not to mention they already checked the trace number. So I went to BDO and it took me like 30 mins before they can tell me that they got access denied, with the reason of, that the first branch(cebuana) that I went already inquired with the transaction and that he is already liable for it.

So I went back to Cebuana and they were closed already since they have xmas party. Grrrrrr.

I went to another branch and luckily they are still open but it took me 40 mins to get the money since they aren't direct, they still need authorization disbursement from Xoom.If I didn't ranted and told them that Its only cebuana who can release the money to me, they won't process my transaction.

We used money transfers just twice since we were engaged. Never used it again d/t the added amount being asked in order to send money, plus the hassle ---- sometimes you could not get it in USD, which I prefer getting over Php. Hubby opened an online account with an international bank and we have never had a problem with it. When he came home for the wedding, he brought the ATM card with him and left it to me. When he went back to the US, he added me to the account, after getting my two government-issue ID's and my Philippine TIN (I would think the local SSS would do too). No charge for transfer with a very small amount charged for withdrawals. Plus...you get to have an added proof of the marital relationship...

But perhaps your problem is related to the holiday season...lots of people remitting money back to RP.

I have good luck with xoom so far, however I was at my own bank the other day and I will probably start doing money xfers straight threw them. It is free for me to do so. Only limit to it however is the money can only be picked up at a PNB

ive registered xoom last october but i havent use it yet maybe this xmas... i hope the problem wont be this often. we used to have ikobo money transfer but they went out of business but they back again 2 days ago lol... so im confused which is which. but i still gona try xoom, see whats up

We used xoom for 2 yrs now and we have no problem it took 3 minutes only for it to be available for pick up.

TFC reported last week that many banks are delaying delivery of remittances as it gets closer to Christmas, which is why funds might not be available. There's lots of OFW and family member remittances that flow into the Phils this time of year, so the banks are just capitalizing on this. Increased dwell time with them means increased profit. This is also what's responsible for boosting the US dollar to peso exchange rate to higher levels lately.
