here's the letter i got from the Embassy :

This is in reference to your finace(e) (k1/k3) visa case.

Your case is eligible to be scheduled for a visa interview. You may request an interview appointment date by calling the Visa Information Services at 1-909-101-7878 (from the Philippines) or 1-888-877-9888 (from the US). There is a fee for calling the Visa Information Services. You should compile all required documents and undergo the medical examination before your interview. It is important that you must have your complete documents; otherwise, your visa application will be refused or you may be asked to return for another appointment.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Please read and follow all interview preparation instructions for fiance(e) K1/K3 visa applicants located on the Embassy's web site at http://manila.usemabassy.gov/wwwh3238.html. The instructions contained at the web site will inform you the required documentation and procedures to follow prior to the interview dat.

A consular officer will determine if you are qualified for a visa during the interview. However, if the officer determines that the documentation or information already provided is insufficient to establish eligibility for a visa, the officer may request the submission of additional documents or require additional information until the true facts of the case can be ascertained.

----- im just confused coz' based on what i read here and some other sites... i ahve to pass some documents first to the embassy before they will schedule for an interview... i saw in some post here that PACKET 3 RECEIVED and PACKET 3 SUBMITTED are included on their timeline... the letter that I received is that the Packet 3 or will I be receiving another letter after this... just confused and just want make sure i'm doing it right...thanks

If you got the letter from USEM, then your petition is @ the embassy now, and you can call them and schedule an interview, they will ask for your address, MNL case #, name of petitioner, birthday, etc.. The document that you are talking about that has to be at the Embassy is your Petition, and since it's there, you can now schedule your interview, or your fiance can..

The link in that letter they sent you is for the Packet you have to download. They used to send that packet out, but now you have to download/print it yourself, they changed it in March of this year. Here is the packet you download, English version, they have a Tagalog version if it's too hard to understand the English version: http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfk1en.pdf

Different countries do the interview schedule differently, that's why you see some people have, 'Packet 3 Recieved' in their timeline.

Hope this helps and good luck with your interview!

And no, the Embassy does not schedule your medical exam, it's a first come first serve, but since you don't have your passport yet, you can't do the medical exam, they will need it when they finish with your exam as they take it and send the results with your passport to the Embassy. If you child is on the petition, then bring her also for the exam, the link I gave you will have all the info you will need for medical amount to pay for you and your child. It has to be paid in peso, not US dollar.

hi...just for verification again... so, it means i don't need to send the documents to the embassy prior to my interview? just like what i see here in the forum wherein they send back the Packet 3... Does it mean that i just have to prepare the documents, medical and just wait for my interview date? thanks...just confused...
