Ok I am just not sure what to file if I am going to bring my husband down on a CR1. Do I just file the I130 or do I have to file something differant and how do I find out what I have to file and do with this CR-1? I am so confused on this. The first time I file a K-1 and everything else that went with that. I don't want to use another attorney and go thru that mess again. 1500.00 down the tubes and nothing to show for it. I guess you can say I don't trust them. 1 rip off attorney is enough for me.

So if anyone can help me or lead me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

First of all YOU ARE MARRIED.. (congratulations!) Being married, you are no longer legible for a K1 visa, and should go under the CR1/IR1 visa type, or K3 visa which is for married couples. ALtho i will suggest to go directly and do the CR1/IR1 visa, as i think it will end up costing less (than K3 route), more or less same duration of time, and will be able to work. Info is as follows:

Good luck!

p/s: I think you should move to CR1/IR1 thread for better advice.

Reading the Guides is the best course of action to start! Welcome to VJ chryl&jhn! You should change your profile to indicate CR1 instead of K-1. You mentioned you had already filed a K-1 at some point, but didn't say what happened to that? Since then have you married? What has changed insofar as your circumstances since you've married? What prevented you from getting your K-1 before you married?

I don't know if you've checked out the Canada Forum, but please stop by and ask questions, or see if there are some other threads there that can help you. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showforum=93

You don't need an attorney, many have not, however if your case is complicated, there is a criminal record you're concerned about or something of that nature, you might want to use one.

After reading the guides, please come back and ask for clarification and assistance!

Again, welcome!
