You say you are making plans and frankly we always found that to be one of the best things to do. One of the things we used to do (that never materialized - LOL) was plan a medival style wedding. We used to look at wedding clothes on all the costume sites! I think it really doesn't matter if something you 'plan' never comes to pass - as long as you are dreaming together.

One of my fraternity brothers recently had a wedding like that, the costumes were professionally made and absloutely awesome!

Similiar to Rebecca, we have actually watched one another fall asleep through our webcams, I have sat and listened to his breathing get heavy and then turn into a snore, laughable but it made me feel closer to him. I have done the most ridiculous of things, like taking pictures of my dinner plate, or putting my freshly painted toe nails up to the webcam. I have even placed the webcam in the window so that he could watch me garden. If you don't already have it download Hello, or use Msn to share your photos, you can both look at them at the same time and if using voice on top of that you can laugh, cry, or discuss them. I think anything you do to allow the other to share in your day to day life, will help. No matter how simple or silly it seems share it!

OK i have to say a big ditto to all this. We thought we were alone in the world with everybody saying how pathetic we are. But wow. This is amazing. I think that nobody else can understand this situation the way we are living it, only all the people that are going through this process can. Speaking about crazy things. we've been having our computer in our bedroom for the last 6 months and having MSN webcams on for so many hours....We used to sleep with our headphones on to listen to the other one breathing and snoaring, but we had to stop after 3 months due to severe neck kink.... But we still leave the webcam on all day to say hello when the other one comes back from work, till the morning just to say a "good morning sweetheart", so that it feels a little more real. Its really hard being apart when all you need is to hold your beloved tight in your arms, and when I am depressed I tend to start thinking what if anything would happen to him, what if.....And i hate that. I just want it to be done. Its killing me. No more social life for me at the moment, all I do is working, and then I come back home to talk to him. We plan our dinner to cook the same food.People are litterally laughing at me when i say I can't go somewhere because my lover is waiting for me for dinner... We are calling each other to say when we are gonna get home when we have to go shopping or anything, just like if we were living together (Canada-Usa plan).

But I guess, we are all in the same boat. We all have to be stronger than the system because we all know at the end its gonna be worthed. Like I say to my man every day, hang on in there, one day is gonna THE day. Everybody knows here how hard it is and that is so far the best thing about this website, following all the precious informations. The moral support is incredible.

This is always strange for people who do not understand, my gran still ask "honey I don't know how you see each other everyday". If I tell someone I need to get home and spend some time with my husband I get this grunt sort of noise like oh yeah right lol.

We have been doing this for three years now, probably nothing crazy anyone else could tell me they have done that would suprise me. We have played so many online games together, even I am decent at chess now lol. The internet has been wonderful in keeping us close, makes you wonder how pen pals from many years ago ended up married sometimes even without photos of one another. There have been days I have threatened to toss the pc out the window when he is home. It has been a lifeline, but obviously it does not replace the real thing!

I remember when my husband & I went through missing each other like crazy, it's not easy. We used to mail each other things in between visits, just small stuff like a card or a cheapie gift. You'll be amazed at how fast time will go by, then one day you'll forget you even went through this heartache. So just hang in there...

I listened to LOTS of sentimental music and cried a lot. Kept her photos on the dashboard in the car, photos stuck on the computer monitor... screen saver... etc. Worked like a workaholic... started and didn't finish a lot of wanna be projects, hmmmm. Dreamed, and dreamed...

Created a second person personality (her)... that was like she was always with me and what I would talk about, especially driving around town, or going shopping. Ughh... there was a tough one. Going shopping and looking at flowers for sale or cards and stuff - sometimes just seeing them and thinking about sending something like that I'd have to turn my back to get the tears to stop.

Think about it in another way - that this is all a very good thing. The longer you can endure like this the stronger you will be in the future imo.

You know, this post made me laugh. *giggle* While my immediate reaction was to start looking on the back of every milk carton, I soon realized that you were feeling sad and missing your fiance. Phew! That was a relief. Well, I continued to laugh as I read everybody's response bc I realized that I am not a weirdo because I have marathon Skype sessions with my fiance (my first bit of advice is "GET A WEBCAM AND MICROPHONE IF YOU DO NOT ALREADY OWN ONE!! THE ARE LIFESAVERS!").

My second bit of advice is to take some of these recommendations that people have posted and make them your own. I think everyone has some extremely wonderful tips to make the distance a bit more tolerable (talking about the details of the wedding, et cetera). My fiance is in Bogota, Colombia and I am hunkered down in Chicago, IL. What we have found very helpful is to make the daily things that many couples think are quite mundane special in our own way. My damn neighbors must think I am crazy becasue while I am doing dishes or cooking dinner I am yapping away laughing and carrying on crazy conversations. Carlos and I have been known to cook a cyber-dinner with eachother, clean our homes together and go salsa dancing togther at make believe clubs (it is kind of funny to salsa with your date over the internet, but whatever). We also both love photography, so on Saturday's we will present each other with a photo challenge (we are both Leo's so we love this type of thing). The challenge is to get take unique pictures in Chicago and Bogota and make the other guess what it is a picture of. For the record, my pictures are really good (haha), but he is the designer and he ultimately wins the photo challenges! That doesn't matter though...what matters is that we are sharing our cities and sharing a passion we both have regardless of the distance. Be creative. Have fun. And, look forward to the lives you will be sharing together soon.

Bon suerte!

Thank goodness. From your topic title, for some reason I thought she was missing as in she disappeared!

Maybe that will help you with missing her. Look on the bright side, at least she's not missing!

I thought the same thing!!!! :o:lol:

Hold on to what is good even if it is a handful of earth.

Hold on to what you believe even if it is a tree which stands by itself.

Hold on to what you must do even if it is a long way from here.

Hold on to life even when it is easier letting go.

Hold on to my hand even when I have gone away from you.

  • 2 weeks later...

To my Sweet Kevin... It seems forever since you were here! I had an awesome time with you while you were here and yes... you did propose to me... and it WAS in the most gorgeous setting! Indiana was beautiful that day and it could not have happened at a better or more proper time!

I miss you terribly and talking on the phone and net are nearly not enough any more! :crying: For those who are interested in knowing... We have done a lot of planning for things. We have decided to marry at the justice of the peace ;) (just kidding) and then go to Subway for dinner after that! ;) (just kidding) We have however done a lot of looking at many things such as furnature and houses etc... and have found a house that would be most awesome! It is a lake front house and has 2.8 acres and a lovely porch with a view of the lake! The house only costs $99,900! which is cheep for a lake front home with all that acreage!

OUR (my) girls talk about Kevin (daddy) nearly non stop and every time he calls here or i call him, they say, "love you daddy!" to him! We have all shed a lot of tears over missing eachother!

Well, I best get this post sent off as Kevin is asking if i've sent it yet... thanks sweetheart for helping me finally get set up so i can finally post and reply! i love you and if you'd all keep praying for things here, i'd appreciate it! We both have some really tough times to tread through and need all the prayers and help and suggestions and advice you have for us!

Love you my sweet Kevin! Sue :luv::luv:

:( Hi folks just a short message really....... I met Sue a month ago now in the states when i went to stay there, we had the most fantastic time ever!. While i was there i proposed in a Beautiful Location in Indiana and of course she said yes!.

Anyways onto my main point since i came back my life just isn't the same..... :crying: , i don't know what i'm doing half the time , i feel i don't fit in anymore and we are missing each other so damn much!!!, we are constantly on the internet and phone each other 4 times a day......... , But it just isn't enough!!..

How do all you people cope?!, my divorce here is nearly done, Sues won't be long , then we can apply for K1 at last!.

But how do we cope with the missing each other part?!!!...... some days it really tears us apart!, we have been planning wedding, and house and kids and stuff to try make things easier!.

Any advice Truly welcome Please!!!!.. :help:

Thanks folks and GodBless!!.... Love Youy Sue!! :luv:
