I find people get a little restless in February. I used to hate that month when I lived back in Canada, so I always made sure I went away somewhere. It's the point in the calendar year where you're absolutely fed up with the weather and all those outdoor clothes. There is no sign of Spring and no sign of winter ever ending. It's a depressing time of year and makes for grumpy people. :(

Oh and on a happy note!

My Nephew's surgery went brilliantly yesterday! Because of the fact that his first surgery for scoliosis was poorly done and was done a year and a half ago, they were hoping for a minimum of a 50% improvement.

My Sister called me, they had just seen the xrays and his back is straight, his neck is straight! She said she looked at the surgeon and said 'this looks like a 99.9% improvement' - he looked at her and said 'yeah'.

So that is just amazing and the surgeon is amazing.

Terrific news Trailmix.

Yippee!

On a different note:

Anyone feel sorry for those execs "capped" at $500,000?

Ha!

It's great - and I saw this funny thing on the news. They were talking about the pay cap and they show a clip from this guy - can't remember which organization he was with - and he says something like:

Well this is great but what happens when they start doing this to companies that haven't received any bailout money.

Like this plan is the end of the free market  - it was so lame.

Then I read about the Wells Fargo people cancelling their Vegas trip  They said that sometimes the cancellation fees equal almost as much as the trip would have. Uh huh - well you know what, that's too bad, you can't be out dancing while tax payers are footing the bill.

awesome sale..I was thinking about making a trip to Ottawa next month..you know..when Ottawa gets to +3 at the end of it?

I think it is funny they capped the execs at 500k and they will still whine and complain. They can still make more in 2 or 3 years what I can probably make in a lifetime.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Awwwwwwwwwww. That Japanese guy looks absolutely super thrilled to be singing with John Denver. But.... OMG.... I will never be able to listen to this song ever again without singing and laughing "Countly Loads".

John Denver looks sexy in his pants.

I, too, love that song.

Mmmmmm.....

At this moment in my day, my thoughts/feelings are going to a proposal I recently got:

to sail from NY to San Francisco via the NorthWest passage.

Yes, the Arctic...this Summer (a 4-5 month journey).

Not for the feint of heart.

Even my fear rises when I think of what could happen.

We may even complete the circumnavigate North America after that.

Fear has never stopped me before.

To think of the beauty of the scenery pulls me.

To think of the cold and hardships pushes me away from this idea.

This feels like too much to attempt for me.

And at this moment though, I feel like this "escape" from the land-world is exactly what I may need.

What to do....

Morning everyone!

Trail - I am so happy that your nephew's surgery went so well! I was crossing my fingers you him yesterday, so I'm happy to hear that they think they improved it so greatly!

So I was driving home the other day and my washer fluid refused to come out in the front or back. Not such a huge issue today again as its -22C outside, but my baby is now in the shop cuz I think the pump is gone :(

Holy mackerel, Spirit! That is definitely the offer of a lifetime. What an adventure! That's quite the decision to make. So much to consider. I'm sure you'll make the right choice, whichever choice you make. (F)
