Morning all... oh I am a happy girl today.. hubby sent flowers to work yesterday as a preemptive strike for our anniversary.. then we went out for supper last night and the waitress messed up our order so we got all kinds of extra food for free, and then this am he leaves me a very pretty card and chocolate on the computer desk for a surprise when I wake up... :luv::luv:

AWWWWWWWW. What a sweetie. :luv:

Oh that's lovely Em! Glad you had such a nice anniversary celebration :)

Chilly?? It's freezing outside!! I hope where Carla and Gene are it's nice and warm. I was thinking about people who have chosen this week to vacation in Florida. You would have to wear your woolies if you were going to Disney World today!

Anyone know the limit for value for mailing gifts to the US? My mumma made us a quilt for our anniversary and mailed it and insured it for $300.00... wondering if we'll have to pay duty on that?

Good question!

Well my Husband's W2's and T4 from last year are all here....so I guess it's time to do my U.S. return from 2007, our joint U.S. return for 2008 and our Canadian returns for 2008.

Yeah.

Ditto. I have to wait for all my income slips from Canada to arrive and have that done first before we can have our US return done. Bleh. I get sweaty palms just thinking about it. I need to move back to England where there's no such thing as tax time. :bonk:

Good morning.

I have a question:

Does anyone else have the feeling that the consumeristic ways of the U.S. people/industry built up the economy (almost) world-wide and now that the money is not flowing, "everyone" is suffering?

The U.S. stops shopping and the world economy suffers.

Hmmmm.....

It feels like the HUGE shakedown and when the dust settles, we can rebuild it...consciously this time.

One can always have hope.

:star:

Side note: perhaps I should stop listening to world news and go sailing for a few months....or more.

SpiritAlight edits due to extreme lack of typing abilities. :)

You will do foolish things.

Do them with enthusiasm!!

Don't just do something. Sit there.

No annual tax return for England? Interesting!

I had a look at the site for that movie Em, there was a tax advertisement at the top of the page!

It was a little tiring.. I think they could have made it better.. but hubby laughed loads.. he can't stand the direction things are going right now in the US, but I did really love the bit about the ACLU... that was classic!

I've actually wanted to go see it, cuz it looks a bit funny. I have a wierd sense of humor though. Anyone know any good movies that are coming out in the next week or so?

If you like satirical pro-right agenda'd comedy then this would be your movie (oh and if you can't stand Michael Moore.. you need that piece too). :)

I think hes a bumbling fool, which is part of why I want to see it hehe. Trying to figure out fun winter things to do that don't involve going outside to keep Wes occupied for 2 weeks (well I know somethings we can do but we can't do that ALL day lol) I'm already draggin him to Winterlude to see the ice sculptures (if they don't all melt) and Jeremy Hotz is is town so I got tickets for that too...not sure what else to do as hes not a skating/skiing type person, and I hate the cold lol.
