Heres a question you guys might now...You know under peoples names it says they are members, platinum members etc and has a bunch of blue boxes (which I assume is related to # of posts)...why do some have hearts and some not?

When you have hearts, it means you have no life. :P

lol. Mmk, I didn't know if they ment you were at a certain pt in the process or what.

trail - thats awesome, new born babies are so cute...but the best part is handing them back and not having to change or feed them lol.

These stories make me so mad. But, this girl is married to an American citizen. So I don't understand why he can't just file a petition for her as his wife? The story mentioned something to that effect, but in one mysterious sentence. LOL.

Yeah because the reporters generally always write these stories without doing any research - so they skim over the details.

Hey guys, I'm signing up for the Custom House foreign exchange service everyone recommended. But it doesn't state fees anywhere on the site. How much do they charge to transfer funds to Canada?

Thanks!

Maybe because she's illegal, they can't apply? But you'd think USCIS would bend the rules based on extenuating circumstances or on compassionate grounds. How can they treat every case by the book?

Thanks!

ZERO!!! if you do it EFT (electronic file transfer) there are NO fees, NONE!! They also offer a wire service, but there are fees for that, but its faster. EFT takes 3-4 business days!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Back about that girl, she did not know that she was staying illegally. And she already has a SSN. I don't see it's taken them this long to pinpoint her, and since she didn't come to the USA with the purpose of marrying and staying, couldn't she just stay and file I-130/EAD/AOS? I wish. But maybe it's not that simple.

I know what you mean, when I was living in Dartmouth, drinking tap water was a GIANT no-no. Simply because, although we had the Atlantic Ocean, anything that went down the drain ended up in the harbor...and we didn't really have any major water treatment plant..so it was just a NO. DON'T DO IT.

Houston water is pretty good. I drink it from the tap all the time.
