Hey krikit do you mostly use airconditioning (heat and cool) with your airconditioner or are you an open the windows person?

I'm an open windows type person. But my husband isn't so it's always a battle of the wills. However, I am not a martyr so I will turn on the heat or the AC if the temperature goes beyond comfortable.

Me too - open windows all the way - and same with Joe as with you husband - he'd rather have the air conditioning on.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Yeah, I never watched sex and the city either, except if I happened to catch it. So now I get to watch it on DVD which is much nicer!

I like both, but the windows here are not really set up to be open with a cat in the house. A couple of weeks ago we had the front window open and - we didn't realize the screens were that loose/could be easily pushed out - the cat saw another cat and *poof* she was outside. It was dark etc etc - anyway Mike found her in the yard next door after a while.

I have this aunt who is literally mentally off and she sends me a birthday card in January every single year. My birthday's in May.

Anyways she uses a commodore 64 to make the cards.. no word of a lie, the pixels are huge and you can tell she still uses the paper where you have to rip the sides off. I swear she has boxes of this stuff but only uses it for birthday cards to me. She doesn't send anyone else one either.. just me.

The cards she sends always say something like: "Happy Birthday" but have a picture of something random like a pickle, or a bag of potatoes. This year it was a hot dog.

I love it.

 That is so funny!

That sweater thing is a hoot. Not for the poor girl, I just don't understand how a drawstring on a sweater would leave a mark and how you can get charged for battery by throwing a sweater. Is that considered a weapon nowadays? That other anti-american thread is just plain silly. If you're going to post something so blatantly ignorant and stupid, you better be prepared for an onslaught!!

On another note, did anyone hear in the news today out of Melbourne about this father who dropped his 4 year old girl off a very tall bridge and killed her. It made me feel sick to my stomach, why do these people have children. KEEP IT IN YOUR PANTS!!

Hee hawwww!! passed my drug dosage calculation exam!! Last one for the course!! 1 less item to worry about.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Responding to all posts in one:

Sneaky kitty. Strong too. :o

Drawstring on sweater. Yeah. It would have to have been thrown strong enough to have left a visible mark long enough for the police to get there and see it. Yeah. Hard to absorb that.

I love funny t-shirts. I bought my kids some from engrish.com. I love that website.

Whoooo, Flames! Way to go!!!

Okay, back to laundry.

So our one set of neighbors skipped off in the middle of the night. The police came by yesterday to ask if I'd seen anything weird. I told them no, that I had seen them this weekend and everything seemed normal. So alas, I guess they were staying slightly past their eviction date and the police had come to escort them from the property. I dunno. Sad, because they were good neighbors, usually quiet and kept to themselves.

BUT - today the Japanese neighbors came back. :D Chris had mentioned that the women plays the piano in the afternoon. The houses here are single wall construction, so basically you can hear anything through them. She's been playing for the past half an hour. And she is magnificent. I could sit here for hours listening to her.

I'm gonna have to learn some Japanese I think.
