I have this aunt who is literally mentally off and she sends me a birthday card in January every single year. My birthday's in May.

Anyways she uses a commodore 64 to make the cards.. no word of a lie, the pixels are huge and you can tell she still uses the paper where you have to rip the sides off. I swear she has boxes of this stuff but only uses it for birthday cards to me. She doesn't send anyone else one either.. just me.

The cards she sends always say something like: "Happy Birthday" but have a picture of something random like a pickle, or a bag of potatoes. This year it was a hot dog.

I love it.

Bless her that is really funny!! ha ha!!

RV park?

Sadly, I will be in snowy Canada and will not be able to attend this special event. As enticing as it may sound.

No restaurant gift card for you then!!

They also do something like serve hotdogs in the carpark on Fridays or something, they told us about this the one time I went in to the bank.

They are trying to entice Canadians with food!!

I have decided to keep our chequing account with them - just because it's easier.

They should try timbits or poutine! :bonk: But I would have liked a restaurant gift card. :( Hotdogs..... nah uh. I had a bad allergic reaction to a hotdog we bought at a fast food outlet when we were here on a house hunting trip. They scare the bejeebers outta me. :crying:

You are scared of hot dogs!

I was thinking last week about this woman I did a website for (in Canada).

Long story short, I used to work for a company - multi level marketing and after a few years there I ended up managing their website.

So, the company closed the Canadian office and moved to Houston - so that was the end of that job. The marketing manager - of whatever her title was, bought a salon in BC and asked me to do their webpage - which I did (and charged her some astronomically meager amount for doing it).

So I'm doing updates to the site over a period of months etc and I send her an invoice one month and I never hear from her again. Oh well.

The other day I was thinking about making money and I went and looked and the website is still there and I email her and say hey - where have you been. Well the salon went bust like a year ago.

However! she is now working for another MLM company in BC and she was thinking about me because they want to revamp their website.

That's all good except honestly, this woman is so incredibly fake and annoying, I don't know that I want to work with her again.

But it's nice to be asked!

Yes!

I'm allergic to certain chemicals so I have to be really careful about what I eat. That's one of the reasons why I try to steer clear of processed foods. If I do buy them I will scrutinize the ingredients list first. Only, that last time I had become overly confident that I'd be okay. Wrong! :bonk:

Oh wow. That's super! Except if she never paid you.... that's not super. I've been offered some work back at my old place of employment but I'd have to go there to do it. I'd really really really like to do that but I think my husband might have a meltdown if I did. :(

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Coulda been a Cowichan Indian sweater, maybe. Those things are pretty heavy.

Turn up the aircon

Hey krikit do you mostly use airconditioning (heat and cool) with your airconditioner or are you an open the windows person?

Another disk of sex and the city should arrive today for me to watch :)

I'm an open windows type person. But my husband isn't so it's always a battle of the wills. However, I am not a martyr so I will turn on the heat or the AC if the temperature goes beyond comfortable.

I've never seen that show. Actually, I've come to the conclusion that I really haven't seen too much of anything. Especially after reading that thread where it turned into people talking about their favourite TV shows and movies. LOL
