OMG!!!

So I get a friend request from this girl, who I don't remember but who looks familiar. So she sends me a message saying: "Wow I haven't seen you since you left North Bay!"

And I just kind of say: "Ya" because I don't recognize her name at all.

Then she sends me another message this morning going: "You don't remember me do you?"

And I say: "Sorry no..."

And she says: "Thats okay we used to be BFF's and my name used to be John Benoir"

I have been looking for him for a while now and now wonder I couldn't find him!!

I am in shock a bit because I'll never see John again. But she looks awesome.. better than most of my female friends I must say.

:wow: holy.. wow....

the part I don't like when people find out I am from Canada is when they say "oh it must be cold up there"

I got asked that the other day and I said "no, the weather is kind of like this" (it was raining at the time)

We were at a wine tasting a couple of weeks ago and there was one snooty lady there going on about how cold Canada was and I mentioned that not all of Canada is cold and she says "It is so! I've been there!" (She didn't know I was Canadian. LOL)

Haha. That happened to me too. There was one guy where I used to work.... his name was Eric. Anyway, he left and two years later he called my friend (who was also a co-worker) while I was sitting in her office and told her that he'd had a sex change operation and he was now called Erica. We were like..... :o

I know! That's why I laughed at her. Because she was standing there being all snooty about where they'd been and how much they knew and I was thinking "You have no idea how stupid you sound right now."

Short update, I bought Thom a new bag of his regular food, and he ate it up like it was going out of style. He had lots of the older bag left but its been kept outside in a large plastic bin. I'm wondering if his food was smelling funny and that's why he didn't want to eat it.

ah, yes that could have been the problem - the food was 'off'. Glad to know he is eating again. You might want to store the food inside where it isn't susceptible to temperature and moisture fluctuations.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Most USians feel duped if you tell them about how "nice" Vancouver Winters can be.

Hence...

Like for example, Chicago is having its second worst Winter is however many years.

The cold is brutal and there is more snow than what they have had in over a decade.

Last year was worse for snowfall I believe, and the Winter here is far from over though.

And so, when I tell people who believe I should just be reveling in it (in this cold) about how spoiled I was in Vancouver...it usually doesn't go over very well.

I am just going to jump in here with this message...

why you need to use less soap and run around nude in the sun for 20 minutes every day:

I'm on this email list, and although I don't keep up with all of the news coming from this guy, I find he has lots of wonderful thingies to say.

And today I watched this from a young guy that has figured out some cool ways the brain learns things:

This seems to be a more common experience than I thought. Years ago I dated a guy named Gary. It wasn't for very long because he was very 'clingy' and wanting to get married and I certainly didn't think we were anywhere near that stage in our relationship. I eventually broke it off, he met another girl and got married very quickly. A few years later I ran into her and she told me the marriage had lasted for about a year - the time it took for Gary to realize he really wasn't male but female - and so they divorced. He later underwent the full sex change operation. You know, I'm really not surprised - but I have never seen him/her again and have no idea what she looks like now. Yes, I'm curious:-).

The Montreal massage therapist I saw also had had a sex-change.

She was the most awesomest (hee hee) massage therapist I have ever had, AND I really loved her connection with spirituality...we spoke the same language!

She is a friend of a friend...had been my friend's best man many moons ago.

They are still best friends.

Cool!

Well all I know is summer in Ottawa is wonderful, but the winters are torture! I don't think the great summer makes up for the winter. I'm just not a cold weather/snow person.

Well, based on that you would totally be qualified to speak on the entire country of Canada.
