That's awesome Nev, glad to hear it was so fun. I love how you tracked the Canadians down, they were probably so happy! That reminds me of when we stopped to talk to the guys with the Ontario plate on the streets of Philly

Exactly!

Mike doesn't get it at all! I asked him if he saw an someone wearing a Villanova or Temple shirt in Canada would he not walk up and say "hi" and he said he wouldn't. I just find that strange... its like you have something in common with that person, you're from the same country... why not say hi?

I have met many people by just walking up and saying: "HI"

Well he went and drove that one around a bit, seems like a pretty good vehicle - he said it isn't as wide as he thought it would be - oh and the check engine light was on - the guy said it was the 02 sensor - which they would fix.

Anyway, he is now off to look at the jeep.

So he went to look at the jeep and it seems quite nice, he is definately leaning towards buying it. He is just going to talk to the guy and get a carfax report.

So my husband got his iphone today.

I had to bring him because you needed the person there if you wanted to activate it so instead of telling him. I just took him to the apple store and there was a line so I went and stood in it and he goes: "Oh if you're just looking around you can go right in, this line is for the new iphone" and I just stood in the line and said: "Well... I guess you're getting a new iphone"

The look on his face was priceless! He was extremely happy.

Anyways I am taking Ethan to see UP tonight... I have been up since 7:30 this morning, took my car in, groceries, spent two hours in the rain standing outside the Apple store, took Ethan to get his haircut... I'm a little tuckered. But its Ethan's last weekend before he goes to grandmas for the summer and I want to spend time with him... ahh. I got a lump in me throat. I am gonna miss him.

One shoul dtake alook at consumer reports used car book and see how they rate the Jeeps. Or look at edmunds.com! Sorry, I'm just not a big believer in Anything made by dodge (jeep) GMC or Ford, lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

yes check them out my ex was a dodge lover and every vehicle he bought was a piece of ####### in more then one way. When I bought my first car he wanted me to get a dodge I found one and the dang thing had a ####### motor in it which dodge knew was defective but refused to recall. They wouldnt even honor the warrenties on most of these motors they would try to blame the owners for the problems. I would really do some research before buying or you could end up paying for a car/truck thats sits in your driveway collecting dust like I did. At least it looked pretty.

So I'm back after a lovely two days! Yesterday was our 5th anniversary and we also had an invitation to attend one of Joe's co-workers wedding in Columbus, Georgia. We drove down yesterday, then had a leisurely visit around Columbus and Fort Benning today before driving back, stopping for dinner along the way. What a lovely town Columbus is - I would move there in a heartbeat! The wedding was held in the Trade Center which is made up of all these old mills, industries and warehouses along the River. They have done an incredible job of restoration and incorporating these historic buildings into a vibrant and alive historic district. The wedding was sweet - huge wedding party - 12 bridesmaids! - and I got to meet some of Joe's coworkers which was fun. Did you know they don't clink glasses for the bride and groom to kiss here - the only person at our table who had ever heard of it before was a woman originally from Colorado! Is that only a Canadian thing, I wonder?

We stayed at the Columbus Marriott right across the road from the Trade Center - which is a restoration of an old grist mill and again an incredibly well done job. Our room was lovely with real feather pillows on the bed - and good coffee for the coffee maker, hehehehe! It was nice just to be able to walk across the road and back for the wedding. We had a lovely time and it was a great way to spend our anniversary.

Then, when we got home today there were flowers waiting for me on the porch from my brother and his family wishing me a happy birthday (today's my birthday). So, a wonderful two day break - and I would happily go back to Columbus again.

Thanks!

We actually hadn't thought we would get back home until about 10 oclock tonight but we did the leisurely thing and just 'mossied' along when it felt right so ended up home a little bit earlier than originally thought. It was nice, though, and the cats were all happy to see us too, hehehe. They are running through the house playing now.
