Well, we are off today to Columbus, Ohio for a co-worker's of Joe's wedding. Quite coincidentally, it is also our 5th wedding anniversary so we will be celebrating that too! Nice to have someone else throw us the party, hehehe! We've booked a nice hotel and will just make a weekend of it:-). Tomorrow we will also be touring Fort Benning where Joe was first stationed when he came to Georgia - I've never been so it will be interesting.

Anyway, just a quick check in before we head off about noon (Joe had a business meeting phone call this morning or we would already be on our way). See you guys Sunday!

I saw your post and thought "Hey! Aren't you supposed to be away??"

Happy anniversary, Kathryn. Have a lovely time. :)

Actually, it is Columbus, Georgia (I don't know where my mind was at when I wrote Ohio - maybe because I am more used to Columbus, Ohio than Columbus, Georgia - but it is Georgia!) and it is about 2 1/2 hour drive south of us so not too bad. And yes, we're driving - in the 99 degree heat - thank heavens for Air Conditioning!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

joyeux anniversaire!

excuse me, its FFF day today!!! French_Free_Friday! lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I am getting my husband the new iphone 3G for fathers day. I just saw the ad on the apple homepage and it comes out today.

He has seriously taken on such a fatherly role for Ethan when he didn't have to and I really do appreciate it. I don't like hallmark holidays but I figure why not show him that I truly do appreciate him teaching Ethan to play hockey, going to games, cheering him on and generally being there for Ethan even now when Ethan is 10 and starting to become full of attitude.

I am really excited about doing this. I am going to go to the apple store tomorrow. :D

Im in Columbus Ohio right now! I was excited when I read that LOL

So apartment hunting last night with Buddy, and found this in an ad:

Details:

First and last month rent will be required along with a one year lease.

References will be required and will be checked.

Pets..... talk to me and we will see.....

Special note: We will not accept inquiries from, "BOYFRIENDS or Special Male Friends" of women who may be interested in this apartment as we are tired of pimps trying to find their 'girls' a nice place to stay. So if you're a woman and serious about the apartment there are two owners of this building, myself and my partner and either of us would be happy to talk with you and show you the space

Needless to say we will be staying out of that area LOL!!!

Well I have been listening to him whine all week about how he wants it.

Men and their gadgets. I am happy with just a tin can and some string. :P
