Ace of cakes > cake boss

I love Duff.

Duff is cool. I priced a cake with them for our wedding just to see, the min amount is $1000 for your basic cake and it goes up from there. They also charge $175 per hour for delivery

Holy smokes! :o I guess I shouldn't be too suprised considering the quality and the intricate design of their cakes, but jeez!! I just looked at their website and they already have weeks in 2010 that they are no longer taking any more orders for cakes!

I guess the show made them extra busy! Their cakes are soooo cool though, I can't believe they're edible!

I have heard that his cakes do taste good too. But I am semi-####### about people handling my food and it just seems they handle it a lot... I am sure they're clean and sanitary but still... it's handled a lot... with hands.

I'm ocd.

Yeah they do handle them a lot now that you mention it - it's more like a sculpture.

I don't watch that show really, I find it boring.

$1000 plus is a lot for a cake really - I mean, it's a....cake.

Ewww I never thought of how much they handled it, you're right. Hey did you see Jon & Kate last week, they went to visit Duff and they made Kate a B-day cake. It looked really yummy, lemon.

We lucked out for our wedding. Found a lady in RI that just made them for fun! Can't recall the price but it was ridiculously low and looked as good as any wedding cake you see in magazines! And she made the cake the day of the wedding. it was soooo fresh and looked awesome!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

We didn't have cake, we had little praline logs. In fact, I didn't tell the restaurant it would be for a wedding, I just told them we would have a family Christmas party... We got married there: http://www.lesaint-gabriel.com/photos_sabrevois.html

It was nice, there was a fire in the fireplace inside, but they did one outside too. The bestman got Cuban cigars and it was not too cold, so that's where the evening ended. :)

John and Kate seems weird now.. they are just meeting different celebrities and going to different places, theme parks etc...

I liked it the first year when they just showed the normal day to day life.. it has just gotten out of hand now though...

Yea aww those kids are precious!

And that's all I think about is how much the food is handled, without gloves, and how much it sits out... and one time Ben wiped his forehead with his forearm and then kept rolling the fondant with his hands and I was soo grossed out and my husband told me I was the only person who would catch something like that, but I did. It's what I think about most.

I agree! All they do is have guest stars now. It's sad. I really do love that show though and those kids are just TOO CUTE! But it's a little sad to watch because its like watching a train wreck happen right in front of you. :(

I don't want them to divorce. I would be sad. And I am well aware that I don't know these people personally, but I didn't know Sammy Davis Junior either and I cried when he died. :(
