I really want to give these people the benefit of the doubt.. they seem like nice people, and they are young and really probably don't realize how annoying it is to have a doorbell ring at 2:30am... Hubby's fuming, and I'm trying to calm him down.. we just have completely opposite schedules.. they all work together and get home at 11pm.. JUST when we're starting to get to sleep :(

LOL. Hair would always get stuck in my bra so I got lots of them. That was the only one that really got in there though. I think it took almost 2 years before I got it out.

You need to just go knock on their door and tell them nicely how you feel. They probably don't even know they're being loud. As long as you're nice about it I don't see how it could be a problem. Apartment living is communal and you have to think of your neighbors and I am sure they understand that.

yep.. that's the plan.. i'm sure they will understand that waking us up for 2 hrs through the night when hubby gets up at 5am is PROBABLY not a good thing.. they seem reasonable.. it's just frustrating to be in this position.. AGAIN! :)

Our neighbors are quiet but they obsess over their little wee apartment garden. It's a mother and son and EVERY SINGLE DAY she comes home from work and yells at him for tending the garden wrong and my husband and I lay by the window on the carpet laughing quietly. Every day... she yells at him.

They use a lot of fake plastic plants too... along with some real and it doesn't look good at all but it's their pride and joy.

They are just really odd.

Maybe they are farming/great outdoors people stuck in an apartment! So now, they could move to the country, then Em and her Husband could move in to that apartment.

Em are you still looking at places?

Yes, that is the Farmer's market that is 2 blocks from us - but if it is produce you are after - it is - well it's awful, basically it looks like they take the cast offs from the supermarket. Like the last time we went over there, a few weeks ago - there were strawberries, but on the table they were sitting on was all this strawberry juice - like lots, I mean strawberries sitting on a plastic table cover in a puddle of juice is just unappealing. I have bought some of their stuff - it's meh - not fresher or nicer than Albertson's stuff.

The funny thing is - they are making a lot of money - they are selling all that stuff. Hmm, wonder how it would go if you set up shop with real produce from real farmers!

*crosses LM Farmer's Market off to-do list*

Well let me see, aside from that they have speciality pasta (very pricey - I bought some - umm, it's pasta) - you can have a crepe - there is usually some guy singing - they have a marvelous plant shop - the prices are really good and if we owned a place here I would definately have bought some plants.

I see on the site they mention Mr. Pickles Pickles on a Stick and Che Bella Assorted Cheeses - i've never noticed them and the market is not that big - haven't noticed a few of the other places they mention.

We were so happy the first time we went over there and there was a British pie vendor, with pies and snausage rolls! Unfortunately the pies were pretty awful - pastry was mushy on the bottom and there was wayyyy too much filling - the snausage rolls were - ok. He doesn't have a stand there anymore.

Something REALLY freaking weird..

So I am sitting here at my desk and I just start touching my head and theres a part of my head that just kind of hurts to the touch and I feel something small sticking out so I grab it and pull it out and its a piece of glass! IN MY HEAD! It's not bleeding or anything, so it must have been there for a while.

#######!? I am sitting here going: "How did that get in there??"

I washed my hair this morning and felt nothing so it's really strange.

Weird! LOL. Glad it is finally out though.

As a hairdresser- I used to have to deal with hair splinters. A little hair embedded itself into the side of my right breast. Every now and then I would take a needle and some tweezers to try to get it out. It took quite a while before it was close enough to the surface for me to get the little #######.

Oh my gosh....did I not tell everyone the story of the first time I met Gene? Well, we had been chatting and talking on the phone for 18 months before we first met in person. I came to St. Louis. After work, the night before I was to leave, I had my hair cut. It looked AWESOME. I put a shower cap on my head the next morning because my hair looked so good and I didn't want it mussed to meet Gene. Anyway, I got to St. Louis, and fast forward two days and one morning I get up and the side of my left breast was tender. I thought "oooh!" #######??? Anyway, I go look at it, and it's a little red, looks like perhaps a blemish, and I'm thinking, I've never had a blemish on my breast! How weird is that! Fast forward two more days...and now the stupid thing is HUGE and PURPLE and OMG...SORE!!!! I don't know what the heck to do! Should I see a doctor in the US and pay probably $100.00 to see them? I'm thinking maybe it's still a pimple or something, so I lay hot compresses on it in the evening. Anyway, I'm going home in another day or so, so I'll wait until I get home to have it looked at. Well....I get home at like 4 pm and I can't wait until the next morning. I swear my left breast was twice the size of my right one! So I go to my Dr.'s office as they have an evening clinic there, and the Dr. looks at it and it was a piece of my hair!!! I guess when I got my hair cut, and I have short hair (coarse and thick), some fell inside my bra I guess and worked it's way into my breast! Now, the stupid thing was infected!! So, I was sent home with antibiotics and had to do the compresses again for another two days and come back, but that didn't help and I ended up getting it lanced! Now I have a scar on my breast. :(

The moral of the story is....as SOON as you get home from the hairdresser...STRIP! Shower and wash all your clothes!!

I told my hairdresser the next time I saw her what happened and she said..oh gosh, it happens to me all the time. Especially after I do your hair because it's like wire and pierces my skin like a needle! :crying:

Oh gosh, didn't you buy the meat pie or pasty from that guy??? You said it was drier than sawdust! :(

OMG! Who knew that going to the hairdresser could be so dangerous?! :o

Yeah this is weird! It seems logical now when you think about it - but awful too!

You know you go in there and they are all nice and how are you - and I have always thought what a horribly hard job they do - standing all day etc etc etc

It's tough work and you have to be pleasant as well!
