You never heard of Patrick Roy!?

He was a goalie for the Habs for many years and may I say one of the best goalies EVAR! I have his rookie card and yes I am proud of that.

z0mg I hated that guy SOOOOOOOOOOOO much, especially when he want to the the Avalanche. I'd say he's the 3rd best of his generation behind Hasek and Brodeur. I'd maybe put him in the top ten of all time, behind Grant Fuhr of course

Trailmix: that video clip looked wonder-full.

Did you see, "Away From Her", a Canadian movie...real tear jerker and also excellent.

Carla: I hope Gene gets the kink out...a slipped or weak disk?

Sorry to hear that.

Krikit: TP and Kleenex thieves. What next?!

You all make me laugh so much...with your extremely funny graphics and antics.

Thanks!!

I'd love to locate and watch George interviewing Sarah.

He's mmmmm....

Sweeping: I love to sweep.

Perhaps the feeling from the days of sweeping the dojo...large broom, large room, back and forth....meditative.

Cleans the floor and mind.

I have a great word for the day:

ELIMINATE

Think of all the possibilities.

Stuff.

Thoughts.

Problems.

Weight.

It is all metaphysical, too.

"They say" that if you tell yourself an affirmation (goal) for 30 days you change the biochemistry in your brain and so your old "hard wired" thoughts/patterns change. In other words: change the programming to what you now are consciously choosing.

Joy (more joy)

Love (more love)

Beauty (I'm not talking about superficial looks here)

Strength (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual)

Simplicity

etc.

Questions?

Hee, hee!

He's a terrible coach in the QMJHL now. My brother played in the Q for 2 years for the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and said Roy, who coaches the Quebec Remparts, is a total #######. He's gotten in a lot of trouble for causing fights and just doing stupid things at games.

He was a great goalie to watch back in the day though.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

I always thought he was a complete douchebag. He would always try to be a badass and try to fight people.... wearing half as much padding as him. Thank you for confirming his doucheness Treble.

Good morning all! How is Gene's back Carla?

Thanks for the coffee Charles.

Headlines from the Calgary Herald this morning - blah, the place certainly did change (again) these past few years, with the boom and so many people coming in (at least to Calgary)

Alberta recorded its deadliest year ever in 2008 with at least 122 homicides.

Led by 67 deaths in Calgary and Edmonton, and another 53 in RCMP jurisdictions, the past year topped the provincial mark of 108 recorded in 2005, according to data compiled by the Herald.

Gene's back is a bit better this morning trailmix! Thanks for asking. It's going to be a lovely day here today and he's anxious to do something other than sit around, but I told him he has to take it easy still or he'll reinjure it again! Maybe a nice walk will help. I did get him some pills yesterday, they're an OTC muscle pain and relaxer. That and his heating pad and Ben Gay cream (the generic kind) really really helped him.

Those are horrible statistics trailmix. They make me very sad. :( If it's per capita though, Saskatoon or Regina always seems to have the most, but that's so misleading I think. Who would think that 10 a year would be the murder capital!

Glad Gene's back is getting some relief, Carla.

T-mizy..sad stats indeed. I found out that a friend of mine from middle school moved to Edmonton shortly after highschool and was shot and killed in 2005 there due to some sort of retaliatory attack. Shame.

Yeah, it makes me kind of sad too. I mean I did realize how violent it was becoming there, so it's not a huge surprise, but it is disappointing.

They don't break down the numbers between Calgary and Edmonton, just say:

"Led by 67 deaths in Calgary and Edmonton, and another 53 in RCMP jurisdictions, the past year"

Mind you, the article itself leaves a lot to be desired, with quotes like this:

Mount Royal College criminologist John Winterdyk said the domestic and family murders could be tied to the stress of difficult economic times.

"It tends to create tensions in the household," he said.

Ok so I need to start doing taxes!

I need to file a U.S. return for 2007 for myself.

A U.S. return for me and Mike for 2008 - with him having worked in Canada and about 4 different contracts here.

A Canadian return for 2008 for both of us.

When I went to file the I-130, I did 3 years of U.S. tax returns, including Canadian income and RRSP's and I did them one right after the other - so I had it down.

But that was like 2 years ago so now I have to review that whole thing again
