Looking at apt #7 tonite.. *sigh... this one is heat included, so that's nice, and a little old lady is the landlady, so that will be interesting! Anyway, it is LITERALLY in our backyard (the street that runs parallel to ours).. we could almost WALK our furniture over the fence to this new place.. tee hee..

I think this one is the right one for you two Em

ha ha.. i had an urge to bring my camera tonite Trailmix.. :) tee hee.. The apt. ad seems too good to be true though...

This Victorian beauty is truly one of the most beautiful homes NHn has to offer.

Lovingly and immaculately maintained, the apartment has many wonderful amenities:

Located on the third floor, the flat is surrounded on all sides by (new!) windows, so there's lots of natural light and fresh air in every room, and you"ll be comfortably insulated in winter.

The enormous living room and dining room have breathtaking parquet wood floors and a working fireplace.

The apartment has spectacular views and delightful neighborhood scenes below.

The large tiled bathroom has a full tub with shower and good water pressure. The huge eat-in kitchen has a brand-new refrigerator and stove and plenty of pantry storage.

The gardens in front and back of the house are nicely cultivated and welcome your green-thumb touch if you so desire!

This gem is located in NH's most charming neighborhood, and is within pleasant walking distance of Yale (5 minutes), two lovely parks (3 minutes), numerous gourmet markets and shops (almost next door!) New Haven's bustling downtown (10 minutes), and lots of congenial neighbors. Parking is readily available on leafy, secure Orange Street, and the local bus regularly stops nearby.

With rent **including heat** you simply will not find a better deal!

Wow - I want to live there! Wait - it doesn't say anything about a bedroom - hmm, maybe it doesn't have any!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

ha ha.. the title of the ad says it is 2 bedrooms..

Hubby's skeptical.. perhaps it's just a little old lady who wants good tenants, not to make the big moola?

A good morning to everyone! Wow Em, sounds like this apt. would be ideal! The windows and light sound so inviting! Let us know how it looked and if you've found the "one"!

Gene's birthday is Friday and I'm having a heck of a time thinking of gifts for him. I don't know why I'm drawing a blank. Open to suggestions of course...

Enjoy your day!

Ohhhhhh this apt is EVERYTHING the ad says and MORE... it's 1350 sq ft HEATED for 1100 a month.. that's UNHEARD of in this neighborhood. The floors have inlay in them, the ceilings are 10 ft high and it has a WORKING fireplace!

WE are just so flipping excited!!! YEAH

We called her last night and said we would LOVE to take it. She wants someone to move in middle of next month, which is fine, as we haven't started packing yet, and keeps us from moving on July 4th weekend (we both have travel plans that weekend in separate directions), and our current landlord is okay with us staying here day by day in June.. SO... she makes her decision on who moves in on Friday!!!!

Thanks for the coffee Carla - Gene's birthday! I got Mike a book for his birthday last month - which of course he appreciated, but not a very original idea!

I got him this book, not that he is all that keen on shakespeare, but he does like Bill Bryson's writing Shakespeare: The World as Stage (Eminent Lives). This is the book he is reading now, which he seems to find quite interesting: Australia: A New History of the Great Southern Land

Barring that, can always ply them with food from wherever they grew up

Em, I hope that apartment works out for you, it sounds wonderful - i'm glad it was so nice in person :)

Good morning all. Hope that lady lets you move in Em! It sounds awesome.

I need to find a dress or a nice outfit as I am going out to dinner with my husband and his bosses next month. It has to be something dressy but not something flashy... something semi conservative but not too conservative. All of my dresses and skirts come from kensington market in Toronto so they're all... unique looking but not fit for a dinner out with snooty types.

I hate shopping for stuff I don't normally wear.

A little black dress is okay... as long as it goes below the knees and isn't too tight... so a medium black dress is actually a better term. :P

Naww...it's spring, almost summer. Make it long, airy, and breezy...simple yet elegant.

That works - I got a nice little black dress and a shawl-ish little sweater to cover the shoulders since it's a tank on top at New York and Company - was about $40 for the dress and it came in a load of colours, not just black
