Go but just hang out in the frozen food aisle.

We have to send our wii back to Nintendo to get it fixed. One month and the files are already corrupted. I can't even get into the settings to reformat it because it won't even let us get to that part.

boo-urns.

That sucks. Sometimes console units ####### out on you. Nintendo is probably going to ship you a refurbished model, instead of fixing yours. That's pretty much SOP for console companies.

Interestingly enough, I have a launch model PS2 from 2000. It still works perfectly. Go figure.

Yeah it will be this hot now until Sept/Oct. It's 91 degrees right now (33).

We are pondering moving to some place with a milder summer.

Like Canada maybe? :P

I dunno... I got a sunburn in Edmonton a few years ago at CapitalEX (although my wife keeps calling it "Klondike Days"), but I've never got a sunburn in Houston. Off-hand, I'd say Houston is hotter than Edmonton any day of the week, but I still burned in the latter.

Edmonton gets hot, but it's not a humid, sticky heat like down south. Alot of homes in Edmonton don't even have A/C, as they don't need it. If it's hot in the day, it cools down by night.

Last night was Mel's first experience with an earthquake. She had laid down to take a 1 hour nap at about 7:30 p.m., and at about 8:30, the earthquake hit. It wasn't a real big one, only 5.0. But I was sitting at our big desk and had to hold her monitor so it didn't fall. I ran into the other room and she looks up at me and asks "Was that an earthquake, or did a truck hit our apartment?". She wasn't too frazzled, but Stewie (our chihuahua) certainly was.

I head "the big one" is coming to LA someday.... it will happen sooner or later, sounds scary!

Yea my original NES still works. I sent them my console so that they could fix it and not send me another model, all of my hard work in mario cart is on that machine. :(

If I wanted another model I would have just brought it back to Best Buy because I had a two year warranty with them.

Donne moi une poptart!

Yeah, Edmonton can get hot, usually in July for like 2 weeks. Then its back to tolerable. But like Jill says, there is no humidity.

It can be clouded over here and partially sunny and I will burn after an hour in the sun. I guess its because the sun is almost directly overhead. In Edmonton, I could tan for hours on a 90+ day and barely tan.

I had my first earthquake experience 2-3 weeks ago while at work. Everyone walked around like nothing had happened. My eyes were bugging out of my head.

My addy is boring too, the only thing is a pothole in our neighborhood. Cool site though!

What is it supposed to show? My area says no activity.

It's a place to report suspicious activity, dumping, pot holes, etc etc.

I guess a grass roots place to voice concern & issues, apparently the police are taking notice :)

Our addy is also boring - no activity - and the photo is so old it doesn't even show how everything looks now - lots of changes that aren't reflected over the last few years and the tree we cut down nearly 5 years ago is still up. Wish they would update their satellite photo - our house looks like a ghost as they have superimposed one really faint photo of all the houses over top of the a photo taken before the houses in our neighbourhood were built. I live in the Twilight Zone, doododoododoododooodo . . .

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I looked up Irvington just because I knew something would be going on there. There is one issue that says "the sewer's aren't for poop!"

I guess someone keeps on dropping their dog poop in her/his local sewer haha

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Finally found some archived activity near where I live. Aparently, there was a pothole near there. I searched some notoriously bad neighborhoods to see what they would have listed. Do they just post items that are too menial to report to the police or local government?
