I would venture to say the wages are probably higher in Conneticut than in Nebbie.

Is it bad that these prices don't shock me anymore?? tee hee..

Our landlord just raised our rent from 1100 to 1250 for 1200sq ft. We're not game for 150$ more a month, so we're getting out.. 1100 is about our max. tolerance

Do you still have the annoying daycare, oops, I mean neighbors upstairs? If so, your landlord is going to have a tough time renting the place out.

No sadly.. (and i can't believe I'm saying this).. they were successfully evicted over a month ago :)

But they want $2250.00 for the apt. upstairs.. so it may be hard to find tenants nonetheless! (it's currently vacant)

You must live on the Westside

We live down near Palos Verdes and lucked out on our apartment. It needed quite a bit of work, so we got it for nearly half price. It's a 1 bdr that normally goes for $1500/mo

Nice, Palos Verdes is a more upscale neighbourhood, right? (I haven't been here long..but I think I know where it is, hehe.)

We're on the Fort Macarthur base, and yeah...some people around this area pay $1900-2100 per mo, which is craziness!

Ooh on a random note, did you feel the 4.5 earthquake we had the other day? I was driving at the time, so didn't even know we had one :( My first earthquake and i missed it.

I didn't feel the earthquake, but then again, I usually don't notice the smaller ones anyways.

Hmmm - in Centreville VA, we were paying $1950/month for a 2100 sq ft single family home - back yard on the woods, quiet side street. A pretty good deal around here.

Mind you we bought a 1600 sq ft townhouse and now pay $2046/month for the mortgage - I wish we paid less /month, but it's quite manageable and of course, it will nvr change for the next 30 yrs - that's the beauty

Wow, I guess Queens isn't as bad as I thought!

In the area I would love to live in, we're looking at around $1800-$2000 for a 2 bedroom, but if we are willing to live one neighbourhood over things are less, around $1400-$1500 for a 2 bedroom. We could just get a one bedroom too for around $1300, but I like the idea of a second bedroom if we can afford it.

Now if we were in Manhattan we would never afford to live! A tiny one bedroom is usually around $2500 if you're lucky. I'll take Queens anyday over that!
