So the M&J show is on and they are talking about eating/losing weight.

They are talking about salads and they have 3 on display - and she said they had something like 1700 calories each in these salads and people are eating these salads expecting to lose weight - etc.

Well these salads on display - one of them has at least 5 strips of bacon on it and maybe 7 largish pieces of chicken - and they have things like nuts etc. Who would not know that they are going to contain a bunch of calories??

What is the M&J show? I think alot of people assume if it's a "salad" even though it's loaded with meat, cheese, high fat dressing, it must be healthy since it's labeled a salad!

What's the M&J show?

And I know what you mean about people and their salads. They've got a bunch of leafy greens and then they pour on a 1/4 cup of creamy dressing and think they're being healthy. LOL

SNAP!

Oh for pete's sake. I hate when the stupid default is to combine two or more posts in one if you post within a certain window of time. icon2.gif

Hmmm. That was my 3rd post that appended into one. Let's see if this makes it four.

Yep. (five)

Will this never end? (six)

Sheesh. (seven)

E-That sucks!!!! Can't believe he's raising the rent in a recession. Who does that?

I think it's a result of this guy having a $3000.00 mortgage payment a month on this place.. he overbought and didn't have enough money down on his "investment" property.. it has 2 units.. a 2 bedroom and a 4 bedroom.. he wants over 2 grand for the 4 bedroom.... he'll NEVER get that..

If you can afford 2 grand a month, I would think you'd buy a house.

Oh and while a lot of salads now can be bad for you, nuts aren't necessarily bad, esp. in small portions.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

No that's true, they are really good for you in small portions.

I know that some people think if you wrap a piece of bacon in a lettuce leaf it makes it a diet item - but these salads were salads like I have never seen - then again I have never seen a salad with 5-6 pieces of bacon on it and 5-6 pieces of chicken and walnuts anddddddd - but maybe that's common

I think it's common in the US! I went to this restaurant called Chickie and Petes, the menu was all fried stuff, I swear there was not ONE healthy item on the menu. So, I decided to order the garden salad, can't go wrong with that right? The salad comes and there are FRIES on top of the salad! Like an entire serving of fries! I had never had a french fry salad in my life.
