Aww all us assistants in the office got flowers today! How nice!

I just realized it was Administrative professionals day... when the delivery man came in I was all confused asking my coworker: "What did we do?"

That's really thoughtful of someone

I LOVE FLOWERS! :) Lucky girl!

Hey, so I got approved for my Amex I applied for... I applied here in CAN, and will transfer it when I move... It can be any of their cards right? I got the Blue Sky one... noooooo intentions of really using it at 25%

Now if I can get approved for the Target card when I get there... I will apply right when I move down (like the 1st day :) and use my Canadian credit info

ok, getting this butt to the gym... ugh...can't get into it with this weather! lol

25%??? yowzzaa.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

I picked the Clear card - basically I picked it because it has no hidden fees - I like that idea.

What I have since found out is that for every $2500.00 we spend we get a $25 Am Exp gift card! So we use it a lot and have received $50.00 in rewards so far. Now that's not a huge deal, but it's certainly better than getting nothing!

Also you get 1 free credit report through them every year.

That's the one I applied for.... the clear one... I could swear I read through the terms and conditions and I saw 25%... anyways, I have my M/C line of credit for now at 10%...to get me through the next few months of moving etc...

A few years back I vowed to clear up my debts and got rid of it all.... The longest I carry a balance is 1-2 months... if I can't pay it off...then I don't need it... plus i'm the spendy one in our relationship... my fiance is so frugal... I have to tame my ways for the fear of giving him a heart attack lol!

I was looking at it today, it's like 8 something percent plus prime - whatever prime is at the moment, probably pretty low. We don't carry a balance either. The reward cards would be pretty unrewarding if we were lol

I'm sad today :( . For 4 weeks now I have been watching the mother cat and her kittens and getting the kittens used to people with the intent that I would find them homes when they were old enough. This morning when I went to feed them, Momma cat was anxiously walking around meowing and the kittens were not there! (She is feral so I wasn't able to bring them inside). All morning she would walk back and forth from where the nest was in a box to the driveway and back, and then come over to our porch and go back. It felt like she was asking me where they were! I was worrying with her all day.

Well, our neighbour just got home and he said he found the remains of one of the kitten torn apart on his driveway this morning :crying: . He only saw one kitten, not three, so I don't know if momma cat was crying for her missing kitten and had taken the other two to safety or if she was missing all three. I haven't seen her this afternoon so I am hoping she did manage to rescue the other two and has moved them to safety and is with them now.

They were adorable black and white kittens and were just at the stage of beginning to move around. A wild animal must have got the one - and I hope it was only one. If the other two are ok, I hope that they will remember their early handling when they show up again so there is a chance of socializing them and finding them homes.

So now I am sad and hugging my own two cats who were orphaned at 10 days old when a dog killed their mother, and grateful we were able to rescue them.

On the positive note, the gray tom cat who was obviously lost or abandoned, is no longer a tom cat - I got him neutered last week, and one of the kittens from the last litter - the only one still hanging around - who I was able to touch once at about 7 weeks old, let me touch her last night and again tonight. She discovered she likes to get her back scratched! Still a long way to get her from being semi-feral to socialized, but its a big start. She's the next project for neutering once I can handle her enough.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Good morning. What a very sad story Kathryn, I'm sure your heart is breaking. You're such a caring and loving person. Bouquets for you for all you do for these cats.
