I am being tempted! :D

Mmmmmmm....seems nice.

Hey, and we just got back from a trip to Vegas.

I need to mention that if I made a list of every place I'd like to experience, Las Vegas was no where near that sheet of paper.

Hahaha.

It turned out to be a good journey.

I have some really cool photos and accompanying stories.

Here we go with some of my hundreds of photos.

Yes, I am a nutbar!

Ever since digital came into play I have gone wild with thousands of photos.

I document everything.

I'll start with Hoover dam.

The tour was really great.

Fun guides and we got to down inside to the bottom and through tunnels on various levels.

Eerie to say the least.

I almost felt the ghosts of all that died building this.

Lake Mead, a huge manmade lake on the dam's East side

Yes, water levels are low...and decreasing.

Majestic white tigers, lions, leopards, oh my...oh and even lamas (which I will pot in the other thread, ha).

This one liked the water:

LASwhitetigerpond.jpg

He was so funny. Walked in. Plopped. Got up. Walked around. Climbed tree. Animated.

Trapped poor animals in cages...sigh.

more from hotels:

The magnificent Valley of Fire, Nevada!

Wow, just wow!!!

Terracotta rock, sand, rainbow coloured rock mountains too.

Oh and flowering cacti.

The quiet was so delightful I did not want to leave.

Not even a buzz/hum from electricity, nada.

Mmmmmmmm....I was so happy!!!

And finally, only one photo from the Bellagio, as most cannot do that place justice.

These are happy umbrellas that were decorations...there was a ceiling, a huge ceiling FULL of those glass shaped flowers, the ones that cost a mint each.

They had thousands...well maybe hundreds.

LASBellagioflwrumbr.jpg

They had a flower conservatory and the biggest crystals I have ever seen. I touched it!

Bzzzzzzzzz.....buzz buzz.

Wow!

So over all I am confessing that I had a great time and only spent a total of about one hour inside the casino of our hotel with our friends who were playing craps. Met two other couples that were so fun and had champagne at 7 in the morning with their insistence.

Hahaha.

I don't even like champagne and it was actually good at that moment.

Strange things happen in strange places.

Vegas baby, Vegas.

I cried at both Cirque du Soleil shows we saw, and even cried at the Bellagio fountains...who would have thunk it?!

They played Elton John's "Your Song" which already kills me, and the water danced with full-on emotion. Wow!!!

I saw two more fountain shows later that night with the lights too.

Four and half days were just long enough.

:o

What happened then, Trailmix?!

It was amazing to live there July!

Anyway, I went to Singapore American School and every year they would have this thing called 'interim semester' - you could go on amazing trips (like hiking through Sarawak to the long houses - like my Sister did) or helping challenged children (which I did one year) or a variety of other things.

So this group gets together - the 'surf club' (nothing to do with surfing) and we worked the chili dog/drinks etc concession stand for many many weeks at football games and did other stuff to raise money (I don't like football - but I do like chili dogs!).

Anyway, at some point during this money raising venture - the treasurer either confessed or someone told us that he has spent all but a very few dollars of all the money we had earned. Nothing happened to him. They refunded some paltry amount to some but not all of the members (I got nothing back) and that was that. I ended up doing study hall or something that year :hehe:

Spirit those pictures are amazing! I love the glass flowers!
